Prayer is an essential part of being a Christian. And yet our prayer time is something that often gets relegated to the end of our list of things to do. Often we see it as another obligation that we don’t have time for or even question whether it has value. And yet, we read in the scriptures over and over that Jesus went away by himself to pray. For Jesus, his connection to God was a source of energy and renewal and direction.
What if like Jesus, we looked at prayer as a conduit and as a way to connect to the one who could do the same for us?
Being a Christian isn’t about religion, or church, or an institution, it’s about forming and growing a relationship that gives us renewed peace and power and blessing.
I hope to see you on Sunday as we begin a new sermon series on prayer and begin to unpack what it means to make deep connections with our creator God.
