Norman Smith releases a snowy owl
with young nature scientists.

Benefit Concert | 11/16 @ 6:00pm

Thacher Montessori will be hosting a benefit concert at The Trailside Museum on Friday, November 16th at 6 pm. Proceeds from this concert will benefit “ The Blue Hills Snowy Owl Project”. The concert will be a coffeehouse-style event with music prepared by the students.

Taiko Drumming Day| 11/26

Community Taiko Drum Performance @ 1:30 pm

Parents are welcome to attend the Upper Elementary and AP student performance led by Taiko sensei Mark H Rooney.

Family/Staff Taiko Workshop @ 6:00 pm

Learn about Taiko in a hands-on way with Taiko sensei Mark H. Rooney.

No "level of musicianship" is required for this workshop, only a wish to understand the experience of Taiko, and a willingness to have to have fun.

Recommended (optional) donation is $30. Contact Victor with questions.

Family Night at Anthony's | 11/19

Please join us for Family Night at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Westwood on November 19.

The event is all day (open-close) in the entire restaurant including take-out. Mention Thacher Montessori to your server and Thacher will receive a donation from Anthony's worth 20% of your order.

Please pick up a yard sign to help spread the word about our upcoming Open House.
Food and Toy Drive

Thacher families are welcome to support our food and/or toy drive that runs until December 7.

Food and toys will be collected in donation boxes located in the front lobby. Upper Elementary A students are planning to deliver the food to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Picture retake day is November 26. We will also be taking our all-school photo that day.

If you want a retake, please keep the class photo and return the rest of the package on or before November 26. If you have specific instructions, please include any suggestions on a piece of paper so it shows through the envelop window.

Students will train in an eclectic style of martial arts known as TAMA (Total Approach to Martial Arts).

The Thacher Parent Council is once again partnering with Equal Exchange, a worker-owned cooperative based in Canton that offers fairly traded products produced by small-scale farmers around the world.  Read more....

Gather to sample delicious food from around the world and socialize with other Thacher families.

Please sign up to bring a (nut free) food that represents your family's culture. Gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian options encouraged! Kindly bring a card that says the name of the dish, the country of origin, and the ingredients (have your child design it!).
