Weekly Traffic Calming Update

WEEKLY TRAFFIC CALMING UPDATE
WEEK OF 4/14/17

Mass Transit Town Hall with County Chairman Esteban L. Bovo: Calling all Palmetto Bay residents to attend this important public meeting!

We are urging you to join us at Village Hall for a special Mass Transit Town Hall hosted by the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) Chairman Esteban L. Bovo, Jr., (County Commission, District 13) on Thursday, April 20th at 7pm.

The Miami-Dade TPO is primarily responsible for guiding the transportation planning process throughout the county by identifying and prioritizing projects that improve mobility.  Projects included in the TPO’s Long Range Transportation Plan are adopted by the Florida Department of Transportation, which is typically the oversight and implementing agency for traffic improvement projects.

Commissioner Bovo is Chairman of the TPO Governing Board, the body charged with approving federally-required plans and transportation policies.  During the Town Hall,  Chairman Bovo will discuss mass transit opportunities for South Dade.  He will also be available to answer questions from the residents, gather public input and listen to the residents’ concerns about traffic in our neighborhoods.

This meeting is so important that we have invited the Mayors & Councilmembers from Pinecrest, Cutler Bay, Homestead and Florida City.

Please mark your calendars and share this information on social media and also with your friends and neighbors!

Traffic Calming and Redirection Plan: So far, District 1 and District 3 residents have had the opportunity to hear presentations from our traffic engineer informing them of the streets within their district that meet the requirements for traffic calming projects. Click on the following links to learn more about the presentations for District 3 & District 1.

The last of the district-specific meetings is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18th for District 2 residents (SW 152 Street, excluding all of Royal Harbor Yacht Club and Paradise Point, extending south to SW 168 Street). Everyone is encouraged to attend the public meeting designed to give you the opportunity to review and discuss the traffic data collected by Marlin Engineering for your district. The meeting will be held at Village Hall, starting at 7 pm.
