School Uniform Requirements
As we head into the final block of the 2021-22 school year, students are expected to return to full Trinity uniform protocols. We ask for your cooperation to make sure that your student is in proper uniform before she leaves for school in the morning. The uniform policy can be found in the Student Handbook. For the remainder of block 3, students out-of-uniform will be issued a warning. Beginning in block 4 students who are not in uniform will be sent to a Uniform Violation Detention during Lunch Circle. This information will be communicated to students. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Block 3 Exams: March 24 and 25
As was the case in blocks 1 and 2, block 3 exams will take place virtually. Once again, students will work on a final project for each course in lieu of a formal written exam. Teachers will communicate the expectations directly to students. Please note that the last day to hand in all work from block 3 is Friday March 19. As per school policy, teachers may not accept any assignments after that date.
As the exams will take place virtually, there will be no in-person learning on Wed. March 24 or Thurs. March 25. Friday, March 26 will be a day off for students, with no in-person or virtual learning.
Exam guidelines will be included in next week's Newsletter.

Freshmen Dental Forms Needed
The health of your daughter has an important influence over her ability to progress in her schoolwork. This fact is so well recognized that the State of Illinois has laws to preserve the health of children. A new state law went into effect on January 1, 2019 that also requires students to have a dental exam prior to entering 9th grade. Documentation of a current dental exam (done within 12 months of the first day of school) is also required. An extension of this deadline was granted by the State of Illinois due to COIVD-19.

There will be two officers collecting before school from 7:20-8:00 AM during those days. We will be donating to AMVETS for people in need and they will come to collect the earnings. AMVETS is a non-partisan, volunteer-led organization formed by World War II veterans of the United States military. We will be collecting gently used coats, sweatshirts, mittens, and hats.

All proceeds will be donated to the Pad Project, a global organization that works to educate, empower, and supply women with desperately needed sanitary products. In line with the club's mission to promote global awareness, we are hoping to compile a short cookbook of recipes that represent the diversity of the Trinity community. Please consider submitting a cultural family recipe to be considered for a spot in this cookbook. DUE TO COPYRIGHT ISSUES, PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT ORIGINAL FAMILY RECIPES.

Suggested Reading for International Women's Day
|
In a small village in India, a boy grows up to make a huge difference in his community by planting trees to celebrate the birth of every girl. With strong links to the science curriculum, this book offers lessons on environmental awareness, sustainability and stewardship, as well as the concept of ecofeminism. Today, there are over a quarter of a million trees in his village, providing food, water, and opportunities for women to earn a living. Trinity's students learn about life for girls in other parts of the world in her First Year Experience: Global Perspectives class, which is required for every student her freshman year. A book like this brings hope and ideas to address the world-wide problem of devaluing women and girls.
