On Monday, February 8th, seven students across all grade levels along with two teachers took part in the first of three sessions for the Chicago Archdiocese High School Student Advisory Group for Racial Equity and Justice. In Monday's session, the students developed a common understanding of racism and justice in their schools. There are two more sessions and in the final one, on April 16th, the students will share their insights with Cardinal Cupich.
Annually, Trinity High School participates in the National Poetry Out Loud contest. This year, the contest went virtual. Blazers Anna Murphy '24, Evelyn Wirkiowsk '24, Anna Ruggiero '24 and Callah Barnes '23 rose to the occasion, sharing memorized recitations of poems provided by Poetry Out Louds. Their performances evoked strong images, provocative word-combinations, and thoughtful commentaries on the human experience. The winner of the school-wide contest is Callah Barnes in her recitation of "Advice to a Prophet" by Richard Wilbur. Callah competed in the Chicagoland Regional Poetry Out Loud competition on February 17th.
