Tuesday, January 16, Middle School Shadow Day! All 5th Grade Students Invited!
Parents are often not the only ones looking ahead during the 5th grade year. Students often anticipate the transition to middle school with both excitement and reservation. Middle School Shadow Day is a key opportunity for introducing students to Middle School life and beginning to acclimate them to the changes that are ahead. Middle School staff collaborates with Mrs. Floeter to pick up participating students, connect them with a middle school "buddy" to attend two classes, and celebrate with a special 5th-8th grade lunch. We would love to see all our current 5th grade students participate as well as any prospective 6th-8th grade students, so please tell your family, friends, and co-workers about this event! If you did not RSVP at today's Middle School Morning,   e-mail us, or simply stop by the office.

Middle School Morning Info in Parent Files for 5th Grade Parents:
If you missed Middle School Morning, check out the agenda and information that was put in your parent file on Thursday or click here! We would love to chat with you about the middle school program so stop by the office or email Mrs. Henzel to make an appointment.

8th Grade Shadow/Visitation Days:
As you are looking at high school options for your student, often they will offer the opportunity for 8th grade students to participate in shadow/visitation days. This can be a great way to get a "taste" of the high school experience, and get an inside look at different schools. Please be sure to check with your child's teachers ahead of time to determine which days work best for visitations, and notify the office when absences will occur. We will make every effort to work with you as you plan this important transition. Additionally, schools often ask for recommendations from current administrators/teachers. If your child's potential high school has such requirements, please print the recommendation form and include a stamped, addressed envelope (or fax number) and leave it in the office for the appropriate staff member. Recommendations and records will be sent directly to the school in question.

City Tree is gearing up for the all school Science Fair on Thursday, January 18! Even our youngest students in the Precious Miracles class enjoyed working on a project which explored color mixing!

Mrs. Bogan and the Loving Lights class made a volcano in class to test chemical reactions for their class science project. Students helped Mrs. Bogan combined baking soda, vinegar, and some food coloring together to make their volcano erupt!
