Cool Weather Reminder:
As the days are getting cooler and we're starting to see more rain, we want to make sure your little one is warm. Don't forget to bring a jacket for your child along with a warm change of clothes for their cubby. For those little ones in diapers, don't forget to bring a new pack in each week and check with your child's teacher to see if their supply is getting low. Remember: Please label everything!

Important Pick-up Time Reminders:
Pick-up Procedures:
Due to safety precautions and licensing requirements, we request that you make your pick-up time brief. We understand that it is often convenient to get updates on your child's day from their teachers or observe the fun your child is having with friends, but this is often a difficult time for our teachers and aftercare staff to effectively supervise children if they are conversing with parents. It is essential for teachers and staff to place their priority on supervising students while on the playground or in the classroom.
Extended Care:
Staff hours are also set according to pick-up times designated by parents. Make sure you are picking up on time or contacting the office to arrange for extended hours of care for your child. Remaining on the playground for your child to play once your child has been signed out or without notice of extended care places the school in violation of licensing requirements.
Click here to read our parent handbooks regarding these policies.

8th Grade Shadow/Visitation Days:
As you are looking at high school options for your student, often they will offer the opportunity for 8th grade students to participate in shadow/visitation days. This can be a great way to get a "taste" of the high school experience, and get an inside look at different schools. Please be sure to check with your child's teachers ahead of time to determine which days work best for visitations, and notify the office when absences will occur. We will make every effort to work with you as you plan this important transition. Additionally, schools often ask for recommendations from current administrators/teachers. If your child's potential high school has such requirements, please print the recommendation form and include a stamped, addressed envelope (or fax number) and leave it in the office for the appropriate staff member. Recommendations and records will be sent directly to the school in question.

Middle School PE Sweatpants Reminder:
Remember that special sweatpants are on the approved list of Middle School list of PE clothing items available for sale at Dennis Uniforms! With the cold weather we've been experiencing, this is a great option to stay warm and active! Be sure your child's name is written in permanent marker in the white box on all PE uniforms.

Middle School regularly visits the Kroc Center for physical education. Everyone had a great time skating at the ice rink! Some students helped each other as they learned to skate on ice for the first time!

Mrs. Decker and the 7th grade class did a growth mindset activity in class. Students took time to reflect on areas and skill sets they want to grow in this year, as well as what areas they have already grown in!

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
