Coronado Christmas Parade, Thanks!
Mrs. Irwig and City Tree would like to thank everyone who came to support our school band as they marched in the Coronado Christmas Parade last week! Thank you to Claudia Adams for assembling all of the business cards and candy that were passed out at the parade. Thank you also to our parent volunteers who helped walk with our band, to Marisela Jimenez for making the tamales, & Isa Cuellar for making the hot chocolate for the food sale after the parade! We greatly appreciate everyone's support!

Safety Reminders!
We have noticed that the police and parking enforcement have been a presence around our school lately. We are glad they are here to keep our students safe. But we also know that no one likes to get a ticket, so we thought a few reminders would be helpful:
-Use the crosswalk! Jaywalking across the street is an unsafe practice, please cross the street properly by using the crosswalks.
-Do not double park! Please take time to wait for a parking space. It is not safe for your children to exit the car if you are not parked along the curb or in a parking space in a lot. It's not safe for drivers, it disrupts the flow of traffic. Children can be difficult to see as they walk between cars and their movements are often unpredictable.
-Close the doors behind you! Closing the doors to the school entrance securely is a safe practice. To prevent from having strangers enter the building, it is important to do this when entering and exiting the building.
Parents and students, let's work together to make City Tree safe for everyone!

PTOPTO

8th Grade Shadow/Visitation Days:
As you are looking at high school options for your student, often they will offer the opportunity for 8th grade students to participate in shadow/visitation days. This can be a great way to get a "taste" of the high school experience, and get an inside look at different schools. Please be sure to check with your child's teachers ahead of time to determine which days work best for visitations, and notify the office when absences will occur. We will make every effort to work with you as you plan this important transition. Additionally, schools often ask for recommendations from current administrators/teachers. If your child's potential high school has such requirements, please print the recommendation form and include a stamped, addressed envelope (or fax number) and leave it in the office for the appropriate staff member. Recommendations and records will be sent directly to the school in question.

Middle School PE Sweatpants Reminder:
Remember that special sweatpants are on the approved list of Middle School list of PE clothing items available for sale at Dennis Uniforms! With the cold weather we've been experiencing, this is a great option to stay warm and active! Be sure your child's name is written in permanent marker in the white box on all PE uniforms.

The City Tree Falcons Band did a wonderful job marching in the Coronado Christmas Parade! Students showcased what they have been learning and made City Tree family and friends proud! Great job everyone!

Every year, our students help decorate Christmas cards for FPC's Ladle Ministry. These cards will be attached to bags with items that will be distributed to our homeless neighbors during the holiday season.

Middle School students wrapped up their study of the fantastic book "Wonder", with a trip to UltraStar theaters in Mission Valley to see the movie! Students enjoyed the film!
