INFORMATION About 2018-2019 Priority Enrollment on RenWeb!
City Tree is moving to an online format using RenWeb for enrollment. This transition is taking longer than we had hoped, but we are getting closer! We will notify you via email and signs around the school once the online enrollment process is ready.
-Because of the delay in this process, the Priority Enrollment Period for returning families has been extended and now ENDS Wednesday, February 28! Registration during this period is discounted $100 off the regular amount.
-February 20-April 30: Open Enrollment for all families from outside CTCS to submit online enrollment application and discounted registration fee ($50 off regular amount) for class space available.
-April 30: Registration fee increases to regular amount of $375. Enrollment is ongoing through the summer and into the school year on a space available basis.
-RenWeb Processing Fees: Something new this year is the RenWeb Processing Fee. RenWeb charges a service fee for using their online application & enrollment process. Returning students should expect a $15 processing fee for re-enrolling their student; new students should expect a $25 fee for enrolling for the first time. This fee is paid to RenWeb at the time of online enrollment.

Operation NO MORE SICKNESS!
It has been a difficult flu and cold season this year.  Please remember to NOT bring your child to school if they have had a fever, vomiting, or have thrown up within 24 hours of the school day. If any of these symptoms appear during the school day we will call you to pick up your child and they will not be able to return the following day. In addition, we will not administer medicine for fever-prevention, as children with a fever need to be at home. Please see your parent handbook for our illness policy.

Hand-Washing Policy in Preschool:
We will also be implementing a preventative practice in all of our preschool classrooms. As soon as you arrive at drop off time please ask your child to immediately go to the classroom sink (or to their teacher if no sink is available) to wash their hands. Frequent hand-washing is the most effective way to halt the spread of illness and we are adding this as a practice for all of our children and staff at the beginning of each day. Children will also be washing their hands before they leave near the end of the day. Teachers will be reminding children on a daily basis but we are asking parents to partner with us as we learn this new routine in all of our classes.

Our 2nd grade students are reviewing multiplication and division! The students engaged in group activities where they used manipulative objects to represent multiplication sentences they created and recorded on their group charts. Students checked each other's work and everyone helped each other learn along the way!

City Tree celebrated Black History Month with our annual African American History Assembly! Students learned about African American fraternities and sororities and their impact on the African American community. Parent, Lestine Webb, and fraternity group Phi Beta Sigma from San Diego State University, talked about their experiences in their collegiate groups. Phi Beta Sigma also did a wonderful step performance for our students!

As the children's choir learned "Lift Every Voice and Sing" for the assembly, they also did some writing about it:
"The second verse spoke to me the most, because of the strong and beautiful words and also the hope and faith in the song."  -Valentina

Visit the City Tree Facebook page for video of the choir singing & the step performance by Phi Beta Sigma!
