Thursday, April 19, All School Multicultural Fair:
Come travel the world at City Tree for the annual Multicultural Fair! Pick up your child FIRST, then start at your child's classroom display to pick up your passport!
3:30-4:45pm:
-Visit the Preschool Art show and learn about Homes Around the World! in room 303. 
-Visit K-8 country displays and learn about the world with your child in classrooms & the West Room!
4:15-5:30pm:
-Celebrate our students' accomplishments by joining together for a Mexican Taco dinner in the Dining room. Proceeds will benefit the band. Click here for more details

Friday, April 20, Month of the Military Child Special Dress Day: 
All Preschool-8th grade students are encouraged to wear a purple shirt on Friday, April 20 to celebrate Month of the Military Child! K-8 students must wear uniform pants, shorts, or skirts on this day. Children in grades K-8, whose parents are currently serving in the military, will also be honored in chapel on Friday at 10:30am.

Wednesday, April 25, New Wednesday Night Parenting Class:
First Pres is beginning a new parenting class for Wednesday Nights called "Raising Kingdom Kids". Class details:
-When: 6:00-7:30pm
-Where: Scout Room
-Feel free to bring food for the potluck dinner
-Childcare provided

Sunday, April 29, City Tree Children's Small Group Choir Sings at FPC:
Join us on Sunday, April 29 at both the 8:30am & 11:00am services at First Pres to see both of our Children's Choir Small Groups perform! Call time for s mall groups is at 7:45am in the Sanctuary!

Monday, April 30, Last Day to Enroll for 2018-2019 School Year at Discounted Rate!
April 30 is the LAST DAY to register for the 2018-19 school year at the discounted registration rate! Prices go up May 1 and space is limited! Click here to being the online enrollment process for returning families. Registration payment must be turned in to the school office once you have completed and submitted your child's online enrollment. Enroll soon, reserve your spot for next year!

Penny Wars, Thanks!
Student Council wants to thank everyone who brought all of their pennies and coins to participate in Penny Wars! Here are some important highlights from last week's event:
- $668.73 was raised!! Half of all of our earnings this year goes to Presbyterian Disaster Relief Assistance, and the other half is for student activities.
-The 8th grade class won a pizza party for having the most points!
-Mini-competitions were also held in our combo classes. Grades 1, 4, & 7 won in their combo groups and will receive their own special prize!
It was an exciting week! Everyone's enthusiasm and support was greatly appreciated!!

Pancakes for Parker, Thanks! 
Pancakes for Parker was a huge success!! Together, City Tree students and their families raised $1,000 for our friend Parker! It was a fantastic time for fellowship, delicious food, and prayer. We will be delivering the money to Parker and his family next week. Thank you to Student Council for helping with publicity, sales, and serving food. Thank you also to everyone who donated pancake mix, syrup, and other breakfast needs for the event. And a BIG thank you to Mrs. Wendy Bogan, our whiz in the kitchen, who made all of the delicious food with some help from volunteers. Thank you all so much for your contributions!!

Vision Screening, Thank You: 
We would like to thank the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project for hosting our free vision screening last week! Thank you to parent volunteers Felicia Smith, Selene Echeverria, and Jessica Cokro for helping last week. The Elks Major Project provided letters to parent files with their vision screening recommendations. If you did not receive a letter, your child's eyesight tested within the normal range.

Yearbook Photos Needed!
Calling all parents! If you have any photos that can be used in this year's yearbook, please email them to parent coordinator Suzy Walls via email, or bring them to the office on a disk or thumb drive. Photos of field trips, sporting events, & school events needed!

City Tree Scholarship Fund:
Please consider giving a tax deductible gift to City Tree's Scholarship Fund. This fund allows our school to provide an outstanding Christian education to children who might otherwise be unable to attend. Our goal this year is to raise $50,000! Your gifts in the past have made a significant difference in children's lives. Donate online by clicking here or use a donation envelope found outside the school office that can be placed in the silver mailboxes in the hallway nearby. 

Missing Measuring Wheel: 
Mrs. Kennedy is unable to locate her measuring wheel that she uses to measure distance for mile fun runs. There is a possibility it went home with someone after the previous fun run in January. If anyone has it or knows of its whereabouts, please contact the school office or bring it by!

Next week the Preschool is celebrating NAEYC's Week of the Young Child where we celebrate our youngest learners! Here are the highlights of the week:
Thursday, Multicultural Fair: "Homes around the World"- be sure to check out what preschool has learned and created in room 303 during the multicultural fair
Friday, Fellowship & Fun Friday: Bounce house fun and pizza/fruit lunch (please give $5 to your child's teacher to cover his/her lunch that day)

Monday, April 30, Preschool Summer Notice of Intent DUE:
Summer is just around the corner and we are already thinking about our fun summertime activities in the Preschool program! We understand that you are doing planning yourself and we hope it includes the continual attendance at City Tree this
summer. We also understand that you may have plans that could take you away for the summer so we wanted to remind you of the summer withdrawal policy should you need it. Important note:
- Click here and take a moment to complete the e-form regarding your child's summer attendance. Submit NO LATER than Monday, April 30th! Regardless of your summer plans, this form is REQUIRED.
-This form is not intended for infant families! Only applies to our Preschool students ages 2-5.
-If you are planning to withdraw for all or part of summer, we require a 4-week written notice (the submission of the form is a form of notice). Tuition is not prorated for partial month enrollment. Notice is due Monday, April 30.
-Remember: This withdrawal notice DOES NOT affect your child's registration status for the 2018-2019 school year which begins Monday, August 27.
Feel free to stop by the office with any questions regarding the summer withdrawal policy. And for those of you staying through the summer, we look forward to lots of summer fun with your child!

Monday, April 23, Grade 4 Sacramento Trip Parent Meeting:
Parents please join Mrs. Kennedy for this important Sacramento trip meeting!
-What: Forms, itinerary and flight information will be shared
-When: 3:30-4:00pm
-Where: Room 303
Remember: The 4th grade class will be headed to Sacramento on Thursday, April 26. NOTE: Friday, April 27 will be a recovery day for grade 4 and the students will not attend school that day. Please try to attend, but contact Mrs. Kennedy if you are unable to.

Wednesday, April 25, Grades 1-5 Fitness Fair:
Students may wear shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes to school. Parent help is needed, 1:00-3:15pm, as well as donations of oranges and water. Sign-ups will be on classroom clipboards soon!

Wednesday, May 2, Swimming PE Unit Begins:
Each year our students have a wonderful opportunity, as part of their Physical Education program, to participate in swimming instruction at the Kroc Center. This unit will begin May 2 and continue through the end of the school year. It is important that all families read the attached swimwear and gear requirements in advance to be prepared for the first day of swimming. For more information, please contact Mrs. Tendvahl and Mrs. Henzel with questions.

Everyone had a wonderful time at Pancakes for Parker! Students, their loved ones, and staff enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast which supports our Preschool friend Parker who is battling leukemia. Funds raised will go to Parker and his family so that they may enjoy a fun, family outing!

Students eligible to enter Kindergarten next school year had a chance to visit the Kindergarten room! Students had story time with Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Whitelock, worked on an art project, and had the Kindergarten class show them how to use different learning centers!
