Our Social Activist

We're so proud of FSH parent Amanda Levinson, founder of NeedsList, for the work she is doing to connect donors to the needs of refugees around the world.  Read the  article.

Solar Eclipse

For the first time in almost 100 years, the solar eclipse traveled across the country from Oregon to S. Carolina. As the sky darkened and the temperature dropped, our campers got to witness this spectacular phenomenon right on the FSH campus. Some campers stayed in their classrooms to learn about the eclipse and watch it on TV and others had the opportunity to view it for themselves with special glasses. Hopefully, this remarkable event will be something they remember for the rest of their lives.  Click here for photos.

Team-Building Camping Trip
September 7-8, 2017

Middle school students will head off to Camp Speers in the Pocono Mountains for an overnight team-building experience. They will participate in canoeing, climbing, archery, hiking, and  enjoy eating s'mores around the campfire.
Team-building is an important component in our social curriculum for establishing a culture of kindness.
A Friendly Reminder From
Your Friends at Drop-off

The speed limit on campus is 5 mph.
If you're running late, we promise that your child will be quickly caught up on the few minutes missed. Please adhere to the speed limit for everyone's safety.

Please pull your car up as far as possible for each building.
We'd like to unload two or three cars at a time.

Please pull as close to the curb as possible.
It is a big jump from an SUV to the ground for our smallest students and some try to jump from the car to the curb, which can be dangerous.

If you arrive before 8 am, please remain in your car. We'll be there to help your child out by 8 am.
If you can't wait, please park in the shed area and walk your child to the Early Bird area and sign them in.

Please do not leave your car parked in the drop off area and walk your child in.

Please have your Friends School Haverford child seated in the back seat on the passenger side.
Exiting a car on the driver's side puts the student and the helper at risk.

Please do not get out of your car at drop-off.
We'll help your child and their school bag out of the car. Please be sure to get that extra goodbye hug at home.

If your child is resisting, please pull your car around to the shed to park.
You can then help your child over to the building door.

Thank you for helping to keep the morning transition running safely and smoothly!

Please join us for the first PTO meeting Wednesday, September 13, 7:00 pm in the community room. Find out about volunteer opportunities at PTO events, service projects coordinated by the Community Service Committee, and meet other parents!
