Don't Miss Out On Showcasing Your Business!

Advertising in the 2017 membership directory is an excellent opportunity to showcase your products and services to other members but time is running out to take advantage of this opportunity.

Why advertise?
1.  High Readership from your target market. Members want to do business with other members. The directory will allow them to quickly identify members in the category of services they are seeking. Enhancing your listing with an ad, which is referenced in your listing (see our ad on page __), allows you to give a more in-depth look at what makes you an industry leader.

2.  Cost Effective Marketing Tool. With 1/4 page ads starting at $290, for one year of exposure, this affordable option, which directly reaches your target audience, enhances your current marketing mix.

3.  To support the Chamber. A portion of the revenue generated comes back to the Chamber for use towards benefits and programs. In addition, this directory is used when soliciting new members, to demonstrate the robust community organizations involved in our Chamber.

Please contact Kristine Richter by email or call 952-846-2047 today.  Thank you for making our annual directory a SUCCESS!

Live or Work in Eagan?

Your Chamber recently kicked off its new year and is now offering an array of exciting programs and events. One such program is our Business Councils, which provide business owners and community leaders an opportunity to gather together and engage in a roundtable discussion on local issues happening in each of our individual communities. Whether it's the latest economic development project proposal, road improvement plans, or a local ordinance affecting how you do business, Business Councils provide business owners and community leaders a chance to learn more, provide feedback and voice your opinion, meet with elected officials, city, county, and school district staff members, and network with your peers.  Next up is Eagan on December 14.  Register today

STEM Internship Funding Available for Businesses

By 2020, Minnesota will need to fill an estimated 155,000 high-wage, high tech jobs. Workforce development in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields is crucial to helping meet this demand and improving the economic outlook for employers and families across the state. Minnesota is faced with a STEM workforce conundrum: students need experience to get a job, but need a job to get experience. Meanwhile, small companies across the state are struggling to find ways to connect to bright, young talent that can help their businesses grow.

SciTechsperience is a free, statewide, state-funded program that connects small to mid-sized companies to college STEM majors who are seeking paid internship opportunities. The program not only recruits and pre-screens students, it also provides a 50 percent wage reimbursement on the intern's wages up to $2,500. Employers maintain hiring decisions and the paperwork is minimal. Click here to learn more and find out if your business is eligible.

Member Spotlight: Welcoming New Businesses

Jim Hickle, Velocity Telephone, Inc.and Gigabit Minnesota
I began my career in sales of business forms and supplies, direct marketing programs, boxed chocolates (yes, I can tell you how to make a chocolate covered cherry) and finally telecommunications. I started with Velocity in 2004 when it had no products and no customers and have been growing the company ever since. Velocity provides phone and fiber services for businesses. We went into the fiber to the home business in 2014 when we acquired fiber to the home assets in Rosemount. We have invested over $1,000,000 and doubled the size of the footprint. I joined the Chamber in 2010 to help me learn how to navigate the world of city and state governments. As an Ambassador, I welcome many new businesses to the Chamber and help them get the most of their membership. I have been the Business Owner Roundtable (BOR) chair for over 4 years now and enjoy the relationships and advice from all of the other BOR members.
Calling All Sales Professionals: Mentors Needed

Rosemount High School is looking for sales-minded individuals who would like to assist in developing the next generation of sales executives. The volunteer commitment is only four meetings or four total hours over a period of 26 school days in January/February 2017. For more information, please contact Vicki Stute.
