Learn How to Delight Your Customers and Get Right with Google in 2017 and Beyond
How we research, consider and decide to buy things personally and commercially has dramatically changed. Which means how we sell and market our companies should as well. After spending 18 years establishing itself as the most trusted "broker" between us and our customers, understanding the significance of Google's recent changes is more critical than ever to our business success. We hope you can join us for this important conversation. Our speaker, Cameron Clark, is the Marketing Director at August Ash and has been writing about, talking about, hands-on "doing" and teaching SEO and web
design for over 10 years.
At Good Day Dakota County on August 14, attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other Chamber members, enjoy a delicious lunch, and have the chance to win $100! You read that right! Each month we will be drawing the name of one of our member businesses. If there is at least one representative from that business in attendance, the $100 is theirs. If there isn't a representative in attendance, the $100 will be added to the pot for the next month! Thank you to Home Federal for making this exciting addition possible. Your membership really does pay! Click here to register
Committed to Business... for YOU.

Employers Invited to Participate in "Employers of Excellence"
The Dakota-Scott Workforce Development Board (WDB) is inviting employers to participate in the "Employers of Excellence" Awards program for 2017. The program will recognize the best employers in the two-county area and provides an overview of employment data, and trends and practices on what employers are doing to maintain an engaged workforce. The program collects data from area employers and produces a 20-page report on employment trends and practices in Dakota and Scott counties. From the data received the WDB will recognize the businesses that are experiencing the best results in employee retention efforts and providing the best work environments in the area. Additionally, participating employers will receive a confidential report including their individual metrics.

The WDB is encouraging all employers to participate. Contact WDB Director Mark Jacobs at 651.554.5622 for more information or find more information here along with a link to the survey. Deadline for consideration for this program - available this year at no cost to employers - is Aug. 14, 2017. Winners will be announced October 4th at the 2017 Workforce Summit.

Member Spotlight: Continuing to Build Relationships
Sam Reber, Financial Advisor, AXA Advisors, LLC
I started my career as a financial advisor in the spring of 2015 after graduating from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in financial management. I ultimately settled on AXA Advisors because of the ability to work with a wide variety of clients, whether that's growing families, clients approaching retirement, or business owners looking for a solution that intertwines their personal financial goals as well as their business goals. Our network of hundreds of different companies that we partner with allows me to provide the best solution for each client's unique situation, which gives me the opportunity to change lives every day.

I was recently named the Chair of the Emerging Leaders Group with the Dakota County Regional Chamber and also serve on the Golf Classic Committee. I participate in the Peer2Peer Roundtable group, the Ambassador Committee, and regularly attend Coffee Breaks as well as Why Not Wednesdays. I grew up and went to school in Rosemount, and am looking forward to building my practice and continuing to build relationships while helping out in the Dakota County community in any way possible.
2017 Women2Women Tour is Coming July 31
DCR Chamber members are invited to participate in The 2017 Women2Women Tour on July 31 which is all about connecting women business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with their elected officials and local women leaders in small business and entrepreneurship. This tour is an opportunity to have a constructive dialogue about the barriers women face to starting their own businesses and how to use the tools available in the private sector and in government to overcome those barriers. As a participant, you will be able speak frankly with your elected officials about what they can do to improve outcomes for women entrepreneurs. What makes these events unique is your participation. Join in and make your voice heard!  Click here for more information and to RSVP.
