Zones Lesson

In Zones, classes focused on "gritty" experiences and how it might feel to try something new. We read the book,  Jabari Jumps , which describes a character's experience with diving for the first time. As part of our conversation, we discussed the cycle of emotions that a person may feel and the zones that captures each feeling. Initially, you might feel excited to try something new, scared to put your foot forward, sad if it does not happen right away (or just yet), brave in the moment, and then happy/confident! Children shared about their own connections to these feelings, as well as tools to help move from the blue and yellow zone to the green zone.
Snow Much Fun!

Heritage House students enjoyed sledding, racing saucers, building snowmen, and playing in the snow after the storm.  Click here for photos.

Gaby read the class a book about spies then students worked in groups to decode a message in Spanish.  Click here for photos.

Donate to the Annual Fund with Just a Click!

Please join the circle of families that support FSH students and teachers through the Annual Fund by making a gift to this effort before June 30, when the 2017-2018 Annual Fund campaign closes. Our Annual Fund gifts go beyond closing the gap between the amount of tuition we pay and the actual costs of educating our children. Every Annual Fund gift helps make the Friends School Haverford experience exciting, enriching, and memorable for each and every student.
