STEM Design Challenge

Grade 4 students have been busy building K'nex models for a STEM design challenge. This year's challenge is "to create a ride for a new amusement park. The amusement park is making 'green' a priority. The owners want to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer." Some of the creations include two Ferris wheels, a Viking ship, and a ride that spins. Students are keeping journals and making blueprints for their design that explain which features of their design would be environmentally friendly or "green" and include things such as solar panels and composted materials.
