Please check out our website to contribute to our fundraising goal.  They will be selling yummy, homemade lemonade on Friday, June 1 from 10:00 am -11:00 am. Young Artists' Club

The Young Artists' Club explored the works of Impressionists such as Van Gogh, Degas, Renoir and Monet and created their own versions of paintings inspired by each of those artists. They celebrated the end of their time together with a special art show. Each student wore a colorful beret and presented their collection of art to their families.  Click here for photos.
Guest Speaker, Tim Hayes

After studying texts about the Civil Rights Movement with Tr. Nathan this winter, students in grades 7/8 had the opportunity to hear from Tr Liza's friend and neighbor, Tim Hayes, who was a member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and the Black Panther Party. Tim spoke about what led him to a life of activism when he was in his early teens, his participation in the "Bloody Sunday" March across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Alabama, and his time organizing with the Panthers. After sharing some stories, Tim answered students' questions. It was an honor to be in the presence of such thoughtful students and such a wise elder.  Click here   for photos.
Talent Show

Singers, dancers, musicians, and gymnasts from nursery school through grade 8 showed off their talents in our annual FSH Talent Show. It was quite a show and well done by all who participated.  Click here for photos.
Softball Game vs Parents/Staff

The FSH softball team faced off against parents and staff for their last game of the season. It was a lively game with good hits, fielding, and fun. They celebrated with an award ceremony, hoagies and ice cream after the game. A special thank you to coaches Sandra and Rae for leading the team this spring.  Click here for photos.

Rocky Looking for a Home

Rocky, our friendly chinchilla, is looking for a new home as of this summer. He currently lives in the Learning Zone classroom -- feel free to stop by to see how cute he is! He enjoys company (but not other pets) and comes along with lots of information about his care. Please reach out to Leo, Amanda, and Adam Rose-Levin for more information. Email Amanda Levinson  if interested.
Congratulations to our Former Graduates

Chloe Wheeler, '16 (10th Grade) and Aryana  Alidjani '15 (11th Grade) both attend the Woodlynde School. At a school-wide assembly, they were recognized by school officials with the Community Award. The award is given to one student from each grade who has consistently demonstrated respect to all members of the Woodlynde community, exhibited tolerance and acceptance to the individuality of each person, and has projected a distinguished and genuine pride in their association with Woodlynde. Way to go Chloe and Aryana.
Congratulations to our FSH Parent and Author

Elizabeth Cohen's novel The Glitch was published this week! It's the story of Shelley Stone, a tech CEO, wife, and mother, whose company's signature product is getting glitchy as her highly scheduled, Type A life falls apart. Elizabeth is the parent of Oliver, grade 7, and Aistair, grade 4. See her at Main Point Books in Wayne, PA in conversation with Jane Delury on June 28, 7:00 pm. Click here for more information on the book.
Send in Your BoxTops

Lost and Found

Math Education Opportunity

Move over bedtime reading, parents cozying up with their children over math puzzles is a wonderful way to promote a love of mathematics. We will be hosting a presentation of Dinner Table Math with award winning numeracy educator Dr. Angela McIver on Thursday, May 31 from 6 to 8 pm, with free childcare available.  Save the date! We hope to see you there.
Donate to the Annual Fund with Just a Click!

Please join the circle of families that support FSH students and teachers through the Annual Fund by making a gift to this effort before June 30, when the 2017-2018 Annual Fund campaign closes. Our Annual Fund gifts go beyond closing the gap between the amount of tuition we pay and the actual costs of educating our children. Every Annual Fund gift helps make the Friends School Haverford experience exciting, enriching, and memorable for each and every student.
