Holiday Gift Sale
Tuesday, December 12, 2017

Setup will take place on Monday, December 11, 2017
Location: Haverford Friends Meetinghouse Forum Room

Dear Families,

It is once again that time of year for a long-standing and well-loved FSH tradition - the Holiday Gift Sale!

For those new to the school, families donate gently used items for the Holiday Gift Sale that the students then purchase to give as gifts to their family members. Items such as toys, puzzles, household items, dad items, teen items, jewelry, books, things for babies, CDs, DVDs, etc., are displayed by category in the Meetinghouse forum room where our children shop by grade for their immediate, household family members. Items should be of a size that can be carried home by the children. All items are priced at a dollar and will be gift wrapped. At 3:00 pm, parents, children, and teachers are welcome to come shop for any additional items left. Any items teachers are securing for their classrooms will be free of charge.

We would love to have you to join us in this fun tradition!

There are many ways to help out and/or get involved.

Please consider donating items to sell and/or any of the following:
- tissue paper and newspaper for packing breakables;
- big bags (and giant bags) for wrapping gifts;
- rubber bands;
- real sticky notes - smaller and stickier;
- thick wrapping paper for odd, sharp shapes;
- boxes to wrap in, especially jewelry boxes;
- a food item or coffee dropped off the day of the sale to keep busy workers going!

No stuffed animals please.
Donation bins are on the meeting house porch

Please consider volunteering:
- 15 minutes of your time any day after school to help carry items to the meeting house  basement;
- an hour of your time the morning of Dec. 11th to help set up the sale;
- an hour of your time Dec. 12th, the day of the sale. Things to be done that day include helping the children shop, collecting money, wrapping gifts, and cleaning up.

Please click here to sign up

Please reach out to your class ambassadors or co-chairs Diane Rouine  or Katy Ruckdeschel  with any questions.

Thanks so much!

Thanksgiving Feast

Heritage House students worked together to make a special Thanksgiving feast of homemade applesauce, cranberries, carrots, and sweet potatoes for their teachers, faculty, and parents to enjoy. They heard the story The Thankful Book, read by Tr. Jess and sang a few "turkey" songs. After a moment of silence, everyone indulged in a delicious meal. Click here for photos.

"Make no mistake it was the great foundation at FSH that led me on this path, and there is not a single day that I don't feel grateful for the outstanding teaching and commitment to community service that I learned from Friends School."
