The benefits of reading at every stage of a child's development are well documented. Happily, raising a reader is fun, rewarding and relatively easy.

Leaf Rake Day
Thank you Haverford Monthly Meeting members and FSH parents for helping with Leaf Rake Day. We had a great turnout, got many areas cleared, and enjoyed a beautiful fall day. Kids received prizes for the most productive helpers. Thank you to Colin Forwood for chairing the event and making it an enjoyable day.  Click here  for photos.
November Lunch Menu

JPM Catering is excited to announce some upgrades to your school lunch program:
  • We are now offering multiple gluten-free lunches every month. They are marked on the menu as (GF).
  • We are now offering additional ordering options: Large, Picky Small and Picky Large, giving more choices for younger or older students/faculty.
  • You should notice the look of our ordering page to be a little cleaner from last month, part of our ongoing effort to improve user interface.
Please remember lunches can be ordered until midnight the night before school. Refunds are only available with 24 hours notice of student absence or if there is a snow day or school cancellation. We prefer lunches are bulk ordered at the beginning of the month.

Please email Joe Petrucci (no phone calls please) with refund requests or any other questions.  Please click here for ordering instructions to order school lunches via the JPM Catering website.

Please Note: (GF) Stands for Gluten Free, (PO) Stands for Picky-Eater Option and will include the same side as the regular lunch unless otherwise noted. (V) Stands for Vegetarian.

KidStuff Books

KidStuff Books will be on sale from  November 6 - 20  at a cost of $25. Books were sent home with each student on Monday, November 6. If you do not wish to keep the book, it can simply be returned to school.  This fundraiser will benefit FSH's newest endeavor - beekeeping and honey extraction! The project really differentiates us from other schools and is something that involves students in all grades.
Pretzel Fridays

This pretzel initiative is an opportunity to fundraise for middle school trips, build community, and engage with math skills in meaningful ways. The Carousel Connections crew and middle school math students will sell pretzels during the class snack times on Fridays. If you would like your child to receive a freshly baked pretzel, please send a $1 in with him/her. Please note that we will not have a pre-paid sale due to our focus on the math and money exchange. Thank you for supporting our pretzel sale!
Eli's Honey For Sale

Try some local honey extracted right here at FSH by beekeeer Eli St. Amour. Only $20 for a 1lb jar and  $3 for beeswax lip balm. Send cash or check to the school office to purchase lip balm or honey. We will send the purchased items home in your child's backpack.  Watch an extraction in action.
