2018: Skol Vikings!

Welcome to Eagan! Last Tuesday, Eagan's City Council approved the Minnesota Vikings final development application which means we should see shovels in the ground soon for this nearly 200-acre, multi-use development which is anticipated to generate hundreds of millions of economic investment over the next 15 years. It is expected that the practice facility and headquarters will be ready for the 2018 season.

Prior to the 2018 season, Minnesota will play host to the Super Bowl LII in February at U.S. Bank Stadium. There will be many events happening in conjunction with the Super Bowl throughout the metro area. There are a few ways you can get involved in this event that will bring much excitement and economic benefit to Minnesota. Here's how you can get involved:
  • Business Connect: The Host Committee is bringing the NFL's Super Bowl Business Connect program to Minnesota's business community. Business Connect offers certified, diverse business owners in our region an opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl contracting process. The supplier diversity program also provides networking, educational and business development opportunities to encourage greater business success for each participant. Click here for more information on the Business Connect program.
  • Volunteer: 8,000 - 10,000 volunteers will be needed to execute Super Bowl LII. Sign up on the Super Bowl website to receive information about the event and be notified when volunteer sign up will begin.
Committed to Business... for YOU.
School Board candidates' forum scheduled for July 20; election is August 9

Your Chamber has scheduled a School Board Candidates' Forum for Wednesday, July 20 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Rosemount City Hall Council Chambers.  The seven residents who filed candidacy to fill the vacant board seat were invited to participate.

The special School Board election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9 in conjunction with Minnesota's statewide primary election. The candidate-elect will serve the remainder of the four-year term vacated by Rob Duchscher, who was re-elected in November and resigned from the board in March after moving out of the district.  Duchscher's term runs through Jan. 6, 2020. Make the most out of your Chamber membership by getting involved on a committee. It provides an opportunity to get to know your fellow committee members on a more personal level along with being a great volunteer experience. As you can see on the event calendar below, your Chamber has variety of committees (highlighted in green) that meet each month. Here is a list of some of the committees you may want to consider based on your interests:

Ambassadors
Government Affairs

I have a passion for caring for people and making sure I can offer peace of mind. Insurance is more than a policy, it's a relationship that I like building with my clients. I offer Auto, Home, Business, and Life Insurance. Our team here at the Pallais Agency joined DCR Chamber in November 2013. We as a team have joined the Ambassadors group, attended Coffee Breaks, holiday lunches and ribbon cuttings.
