Dear Families,
We are currently going through school accreditation with the Minnesota Non-Public School Accreditation Associations (MNSAA).  Last year we began our first of a two-year self-study for accreditation.  Amazing Catholic School's along with a private donor awarded St. Michael a grant of $24,900.00 to be used for our self-study.  This Amazing Catholic School's phase which included four parent and staff surveys was completed last year and has been utilized this year of t self-study.
This year staff has been answering a series of questions in compliance with the standards of this association. MNSAA, an approved association of the State of Minnesota, and having the status of accreditation through MNSAA assures our community and prospective families that our school is in compliance with education in the State.  On April 19-21 there will be a team of teachers and principals who'll come to our school and validate our report.  Most of the staff will be interviewed along with some random students.  The team will be making phone calls to parents as well. They will ask you about the strengths of the school and about any areas that you feel need improvement. The team will also look at our school's long range plan. Over the past year, we have developed a plan for improvement with goals for each year.
The standards of MNSAA fall under the following areas.
  • Mission and Philosophy - The Vision and Values of the School (a) Catholic Identity.
  • Teaching and Learning - Curriculum, Instruction, and Monitoring Learner Performance.
  • Climate for Learning - School and Classroom Environment and Facilities.
  • Communication and Community Relations - Stakeholder Involvement in the School.
  • Personnel - Qualifications, Evaluations, and Development of the Staff.
  • Leadership, Administration, and Governance of the School - Responsibility for Educational and Organizational Effectiveness.
  • The School Strategic Plan for Improvement - The Strategies and Tools for Improving the School.

Blessings,

Laurie Maxwell
Principal
