Weekly Update - March 23, 2017
Here's what's NEW this week:

From the Principal's Desk

 Dear Families,

Bakken Museum: Yesterday our 4th grade class went on an educational field trip to the Bakken Museum. They came back to school very excited to share with me about electricty. Did you know that Mr. Bakken created the first battery for the pace maker? Before the battery was invented those with pace makers had to stay close to an outlet. Fourth graders experimented with magnets & wires to create electricity. All of the students recommend this museum for your family.

Living Stations/Grandparents Day: It is a St. Michael Catholic School tradition to offer Living Stations during Lent. Our 8th grade students will be leading us through this exceptional prayer experience. I am very proud of our students and impressed by their director, Justin Dekker. Please join us for Living Stations on Friday, March 31st at 8:45am in the church. Following Living Stations all special persons and grandparents are invited to join us at school.

Celebrating Technology: We have been waiting in anticipation for the newly donated tablets to be actively used in classrooms. Teachers are creating meaningful standards- based lessons and projects. We are so thankful for our families who think of St. Michael Catholic School for a place to invest their donations.

Congratulations Ms. Johannes: Ms. Johannes is ranked among the top 150 teachers nationally for her engagement of parents.   You will find her parents' responsiveness to her daily talents, work ethic, and dedication to every single child below. Congratulations Mr. Johannes. Thank you for your commitment to involving parents in their children's education!

Blessings,
Mrs. Maxwell
