From the Principal's Desk
Dear School Families,
This weekend marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. You will find many of our students participating at
each mass . Thanks to all for stepping up and demonstrating what a great school we have! STUDENTS SHOULD WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS OR ST. MICHAEL BLUES ATTIRE TO MASS. We want to show our parish how proud we are of our school. Students in uniform or wearing blues attire should look for me in the narthex after mass to receive an out-of-uniform pass.
Registration for all families begins February 1st. We are very excited to begin preparing for the 2017-2018 school year. Faithful Beginnings Preschool has received many inquiries now that we are offering full-day options. Parents are eagerly waiting for registration to open. Know that your timely response in registering your child will make sure that you have a place in our preschool.
As a reminder to all new families (and families with kindergarten students), St. Michael Catholic School will hold your tuition at the 2016-17 rate until January 31st.
And don't forget, this is the last weekend to purchase tickets to the Blues and White Ball. Your ticket price includes steak and chicken, live music and so many amazing auction items. Hope to see you there!
Blessings,
Laurie Maxwell
Principal

Exciting Offer for Kindergarten and New Families
We shared in a previous update that we are experiencing a high level of interest in our Kindergarten program. We are also receiving many inquiries from families with older students looking for a new school environment. In order to be proactive in our staffing and budgeting for next school year, we have opened 2017-2018 pre-registration for Kindergarten and new families. Submitting a registration form and fee before January 31 will secure future Blues a spot in our school and lock in 2016-2017 tuition rates.
Please help us spread the word to families you know that are considering St. Michael for their children.

VIRTUS Training
In response to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul requires training sessions for all adult volunteers having contact with children, youth and vulnerable adults. The program specifically addresses how the entire parish and school communities can protect all of God's children from sexual abuse. Along with attending a Virtus session, a background check and code of conduct is required by those 18 and older to volunteer with minors and vulnerable adults. These items can be done online while registering for the Virtus session. Please see Stmichael-pl.org, under the faith formation tab with instructions on how to complete these items. A FREE VIRTUS training is being offered at St. Michael Catholic Church on Sunday, February 26th from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Archangels Hall. Please register ahead online at www.virtus.org. Call Tammie at 952-447-2491 if you need assistance.
