  ToyThe Toy Corner at St. Michael

Hi Saint Michael's Family!

You may notice a little red wagon up by the school office if you are at the school in the next few weeks. It is "The Toy Corner" wagon and we would love your help filling it with new and used toys for kids aged 0-16.  The Toy Corner is a non-profit organization located in downtown Savage and we give toys to families in need that live in Scott County. This is our most critical time of year and any help would be appreciated.  The toys most needed are for kids aged 5 and up. The last day for collecting toys will be December 12th. (Katie Vander Weit and Susie Williams, Co-Directors of The Toy Corner and former St. Michael's school parents)

  ThanksThank you to our Media Center Volunteers!

Many Hands Make Light Work
A special thanks to these following media center volunteers who graciously give up their time each week to help re-shelve, pull, and locate books in the library for our children. Because of their help, students are able to find books they're looking for on a weekly basis! We wouldn't have a fully functioning media center without their help!

  RobotRobotics Update

We would like to congratulate our 5th and 6th grade robotics teams for their tournament results last weekend.
This year's theme is "Hydro Dynamics"
5th grade Rocket Turtles were awarded:
*             Head to Head Award
*             Programming Award
*             Robot Performance Award
6th grade Saint Mechanics were awarded:
*             Head to Head Award
*             Programming Award
*             Robot Performance Award
Way to go robotics teams! Both teams advanced to the next regional tournament in January.
The robotics display case near the flagpole is currently being updated. You can see their awards there.
We also want to wish our 7th and 8th grade robotics teams luck in their tournament this weekend at Eden Prairie Central Middle School. Come support our teams from 9-3 on Saturday!

1st Grade Robotics won the
 "Complexity and Decoration" award.

They needed to choose a water use and incorporate a Lego water pump while improving the water's journey.  All components were created by the team's imagination.
