Dear Families,
Our hearts go out to the students, families, and staff in the Broward County Schools community in Florida. In time of reflection, I feel it is important to take a moment to share with you how St. Michael Catholic School works to provide a safe learning environment for all.
The safety of students and staff is our top priority. Minnesota law requires that all schools participate in five lockdown drills each school year. Additionally, in consultation with the Prior Lake Police Department, we are working to strengthen our drills to incorporate best practices. School safety planning is also a regular part of our MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team) meetings with teachers and staff.
We know that anytime a tragic event occurs, many emotions can come to the surface. This link offers tips that parents and staff can use to talk with children about violence. www.nasponline.org/children-and-violence
In the coming days, if you find that your student has concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. We are here to support you.
Warm Regards,
Kate Hamill
Interim Principal

Winter Wonderland
Wow! Thank you for attending the Winter Wonderland gala. It was certainly a successful event filled with fun, laughter, and hard work that we could not have done without each of you. We are beyond grateful to have so many wonderful volunteers, parishioners and community members support and attend the event. A special thank you to the gala committee who worked tirelessly to make this evening so wonderful. We are pleased to share that (after the bills were paid) more than $53,000 was raised for school this year! Thank you.
