6th Grade Robotics
 
Congratulations to the 6th grade robotics team, which received two trophies at last Sunday's robotics tournament in St. Paul.
 
They won a trophy for winning the head-to-head robot performance tournament in their division, as well as a spirit award. You can see these two new trophies in the robotics trophy case in the entryway by the flag.
 
This last meet completes their season-it was a great one! Congratulations again for a great season!

NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers
Explore the Earth, Moon, Mars ... and beyond.  Mad Science teams up with NASA to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in this program featuring student activities from the NASA Academy of Future Space Explorers Program.  This voyage of discovery features unique hands-on activities, amazing demonstrations and fun educational take-homes, in an experience that is truly out of the world!  Class content varies depending on series length. Visit mn.madscience.org for class syllabus at your location. Cost for a 6 week series is $78.00.

Party Information

This year Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day fall on the same day. Our Valentine's parties will be moved to Tuesday, February 13th so we can properly observe Ash Wednesday as a solemn day of prayer and fasting.

Virtus Session Offered at SJS on January 13
An Archdiocese mandate says that each volunteer in our Catholic schools and parishes must sign a code of conduct, complete a background check and attend a Virtus training session in order to work with children and vulnerable adults. To help satisfy this requirement St. John's School will offer a Virtus Training on January 13th. The session take place from 9am-12pm. Please sign up for this training by visiting  www.virus.org

 

Placement Test at HFCHS for incoming 9th Grade Students

Placement Tests for prospective ninth grader students will be administered at 8:00 a.m. on January 20, 2018. (Parents are invited to stay for a parent welcome and tuition assistance seminar.) For students with enrollment applications on file there is no charge. All other students will be charged a $25 fee for the Placement Exam. Students should plan on arriving by 7:50 a.m. Calculators are not needed.
