Weekly Update -- November 10, 2017
Dear Parents,

It was recently brought to our attention that the new fad for "tweens and teens" is "vaping". Several schools in our area have already experienced incidents on their campuses with students using e-cigs. Please know that we will not tolerate vaping at our school. Here is a link that will take you to a site with great information about vaping and how to talk to your children about it. Vaping Information This is primarily geared towards middle school students, but if the conversation presents itself in your family by all means talk about it. You would be surprised how much your little ones pick up from others.

One of the things I love most about a small Catholic school is that we all look out for one another. Thank you in advance for supporting our efforts in keeping our children away from vaping.

Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Bogataj
Updates and Reminders
**We had a couple of cool days recently and the question immediately came up - "What does my child wear to school on colder days?" Please double check the school handbook particularly p. 16 - only uniform items are allowed to be worn in the classroom. Please make sure to order some "winter clothes" for your child so he/she is comfortable on cold days. The link to Tommy Hilfiger uniforms can be found on our school website.

**Parents of students in 3rd - 8th grade please take a moment to read the letter below that outlines a change to our handbook that will go into affect on Monday, Nov. 6th. The change is regarding students receiving 0's instead of 50's. Change to Handbook

Prayer on Veterans Day

"Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
those whom we honor today are examples
of your words:
"Greater love than this no one has:
that he lay down his life for his friends."

They gave up their lives in the defense of freedom
for their loved ones and their country.

Teach me to appreciate the virtue of patriotism --
a true and Christian love of country.
Let me love my country, not to follow it blindly but to make it
the land of goodness that it should be.
Let my patriotism be such that it will not exclude
the other nations of the world,
but include them in a powerful love of country
that has room for all others too."
