Young Professionals Network Muscatine
Weekly Update
June 14, 2016

Don't Miss June's Third Thursday!

June's event will showcase the only nano
brewery in Muscatine, Contrary Brewing Company. You will be given two drink tickets at the door.
This will get you two pints of beer or a six beer flight.

The corporate supporters for this month's event are
CBI Bank & Trust and University of Iowa Tippie School of Management.

If you haven't yet made your way down to Contrary, come check it out with us on June 16!

Something New!

Stick around after our regularly scheduled Third Thursday events for the new Third Thursday After Dark!

Feel free to hangout, let your hair down, and continue to network. Depending on the venue we may be just socializing, playing cards, maybe even a board game! Who knows, but it will always be a fun time.

Our first Third Thursday After Dark will be held after the June Third Thursday event. We will be creating the event on Facebook as well as providing more information as the time draws nearer.

Member Spotlight: Monica Fulscher

Hometown: Muscatine, IA

Other places you've lived: Quad Cities, North Carolina, California

Employer: Team Staffing Solutions, INC.

Position: Marketing and Advertising Coordinator. I am currently building a brand new media mix, event based marketing strategy for our corporate office and outlying branches.

Favorite Local Restaurant: My kitchen with the family!
(Tantra's noodles, Wine Nutz's pizza)

Previous Employer/Positions or General Overview of Experience: Most of my experience is in sales and management with some sort of creative twist and a training role. I've tutored, recruited, sold life insurance and cars, managed a furniture and electronics store and played music full time. At Team, I get to use a little bit of experience from each field every day.

College/Major: I went to school for Theater.

What do you like to do for fun? I like to try new things but maintain a fairly rigid family calendar. I've been skydiving twice and love spontaneous road trips. I front a band and enjoy writing songs and performing. On the other hand, I'm a sucker for cheesy family activities like cutting down our own Christmas tree or going to an old west shoot out reenactment.

Why did you join YPN? I think to be successful at anything, whether that be raising children, making music, or steering your career, a person needs a solid sounding board. I joined YPN because there are so many young professionals involved in the organization who are really passionate about what they do. I hope to grow both professionally and personally with a group of peers to share ideas with, be inspired by, and gain perspective from.

What is your favorite YPN event? You'll have to ask me next year...

Anything else? Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming!
