Special Congregation Meeting THIS SUNDAY, January 21, 9:45 am

Be sure to be present for a Special Congregation Meeting, coming on Sunday, January 21, at 9:45 am in the Sanctuary.

The two items for approval are a revision to Faith's Bylaws, and releasing some funds from the Endowment to help our youth take part in the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston in June.
A special Living Water emphasis begins this Sunday!

Our Faith Lutheran Church Living Water Committee is doing a special fundraising drive for the next 10 weeks.  The goal for this special drive is to raise $5,000, which will support the Lutheran World Relief Fund for Community Water Systems.  The funds will provide clean water for 10 communities throughout the world.

In the past our Living Water donations have assisted in providing clean water for 12 wells in Ethiopia, clean water for Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria, and ELCA wells projects throughout the world.

The donation barrel will be available every Sunday from January 21st through March 25th.   You can follow our progress toward reaching this goal every week on the Living Water Poster, which will be in the Narthex.  Thank you for your support.

Your Living Water Committee:  Kathy Dennis, Karla Stalwick, Julie Griffin, and Judy Jacobson.
What David Horton has been up to ...

Did you know that our Director of Music Ministries David Horton has been leading worship at the 2018 Byberg Preaching Workshop in Cannon Beach, Oregon this past week? The Byberg Preaching Workshop is dedicated to developing the preaching skills of ELCA pastors in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. With this year's Chaplain, Pastor Deanna Wildermuth from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Mercer Island, he has crafted three Eucharist worship services as well as sharing our Compline worship for two night worship services.

On January 21st David will be organizing and leading worship for the Ordination and Instillation of Dr. Michael Trice, Associate Dean of Ecumenical & Interreligious Dialogue at Seattle University.

On January 31st at Prince of Peace in Seatac, David will be leading worship for the Pastoral Mentoring Conference hosted by Paul E. Hoffman.

Finally, David was just requested by Bishop Kirby Unti to lead worship for the Chrism Mass, the yearly worship service during Holy Week for clergy of the ELCA NW Washington Synod, and the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia.

Lots of wonderful opportunities for David in the coming weeks!

We are thankful for our church and school sign!

Our Faith Lutheran School Early Childhood Center has had a steady stream of families for tours and enrollment!  Many of them credit the electronic sign out front with attracting them to Faith ECE.  In particular, the school's motto "Your Child is Our Calling" seems to have really caught on around Redmond!

The electronic sign was installed in 2016 thanks to generous contributions by school families, as well as being partially funded by contributions to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
