Weekly sessions added to our fall / winter signature course.
To reply to a growing number of persons who find it hard to take time away from their work or persons who wish to train in a very specific subject matter, we are pleased to announce a new offer during our signature Decorative Painter's Foundation course.
Starting from this fall, we are now accepting applications for weekly sessions during our 3-months curriculum.
The Decorative Painter's Foundation Course*
(5 weeks / 175 hours of class)
During each week, you will learn: - The generalities of the woods and marbles covered in class. - How to use various types of glazes. - How to use the various types of brushes and tools. - Various types of paints (oil paint and dry pigments). - The structure of wood and marble. - The preliminary steps and the overglazing.
Week 1
Wood Graining Level I
September 14 to Septembre 18, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days)
Get the basics of wood graining right! Pine (heart grain and straight grain), Maple (heart grain and straight grain), Oak (straight grain).
Week 2 Imitation marble Level I Septembre 21 to September 25, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days) Get the basics of painting marble with White veined marble, Portoro marble, Laguedoc marble.
Week 3 Wood Graining Level II September 28 to October 2, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days) In-depth training with Oak (heart grain and silver grain), Walnut (heart grain, straight grain, burl), Cuban Flame Mahogany, root of Thuya
Week 4 Imitation marble Level II October 5 to October 9, 2015 (35 hours /5 days) In-depth imitation marble training with Sea Green, Yellow Sienna, Sarrancolin.
Week 5
Introduction to linear trompe-l'oeil effects and moldings
October 12 to October 16, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days) Learn how to create beautiful moldings in trompe-l'oeil over your marble or wood graining. Learn how to paint a simple ornament in trompe-l'oeil to embellish your marble or wood sample.
Module II - Moldings and Ornaments of style painted in trompe-l'oeil
(5 weeks / 175 hours of class)
Week 1
Introduction to Trompe-l'œil
October 19 to October 23, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days) Introduction to linings, to molding profiles painted in trompe-l'œil.
Week 2
Trompe-l'œil Level II
October 26 to October 30, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days) Introduction to easel-style trompe-l'œil painting.
Week 3 and 4
Trompe-l'œil Level III
Novembre 2 to November 13, 2015 (70 hours / 10 days)
Decorative pannel with ornamentation of style painted in trompe-l'oeil and a Chinoiserie style element to ornate the center of the pannel. This course can only be taken as a 10-day class.
Week 5
Color
November 16 to November 20, 2015
In-depth study of color and mixing table.

In-depth study of color and mixing table.
Week 2
Perspective
November 23 to November 27, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days)
In-depth study of perspective drawing applied to mural paintings.
Week 3 and 4
Mural painting
November 30 to December 11, 2015 (70 hours / 10 days)
Rendering of a mural using the techniques of perspective, the different planes, the sky, clouds, drapery, landscape, trees, foliage, painting a figure... This course can only be taken as a 10 day class.
Week 5
Seascape
December 14 to December 18, 2015 (35 hours / 5 days)
Learn how to paint a seascape (ocean), using techniques of sky specific to seascapes, techniques of painting the waves, the water, the sea froth, the sand...

Our 3-months curriculum and weekly sessions are open to all levels and to all persons looking for high quality professional training. If you are new to any of the above subjects, we advise you to start with level 1 classes before registering to level 2 classes.
