The CTE welcomes you back for another exciting semester! Though already busy preparing for classes next week, over 80 participants braved the elements this week to participate in the first Conference on High-Impact Instructional Practices (CHIIPS) held in the Sherrod Library at ETSU.
Keynote from Dr. L. Dee Fink
Dr. Fink's keynote presented 5 high-impact practices all educators interested in student-centered teaching should consider.

In the afternoon, Dr. Fink led a workshop on course design for significant learning.

Active Learning in Concurrent Sessions
Backward design, online learning, tech in the classroom, improvisational teaching techniques, mindfulness, positive feedback: These are just a few of the topics addressed in the concurrent sessions.
