SEPTEMBER 2016
Expand Your Mind
A Message from IABC London President Jo Ann Johnston

September is the new January. Or, at least, that’s how it feels to me.

In September, students head back to school, days get shorter and the weather starts to change. Most of us are back at work and summer vacation is already a distant memory.

September also marks the beginning for the 2016/17 IABC London board and kicks off our professional development events calendar. (In case the start of the new football season isn’t your thing.)

We’ve assembled a talented team of dedicated volunteers this year who will build upon:

  • Record membership growth
  • Strong student evolvement
  • A solid financial position
  • A history of community support
  • Our popular local awards program
  • Sold out PD events

This year, IABC London is committed to supporting the professional development of our members with a greater emphasis on member‐only events. Stay tuned.

Are You IN? Professional Development Event Season Starts September 20

"Innovation is creativity and really stepping outside and being bold, about new ways... and being around incredible people who want to see innovation happen." ~ Michelle Baldwin

Whether we work in the corporate, education or fundraising worlds, innovation and collaboration are two words we hear quite frequently. With limited resources, how do we stay at the forefront with our career and personal aspirations? How can we be great leaders in our business, and our community?

IABC London is excited to kick off the 2016-2017 professional development season with an event that is all about innovation! Join us on Tuesday, September 20, at Innovation Works with special guest presenter Michelle Baldwin. She will share behind-the scenes insights into the centre’s successful launch, fundraising strategy, branding and marketing and what role it is playing in positioning London as a leader in innovation. Food will be catered by Winks Eatery, and a tour of the newly renovated building will also be provided.
