Dear St. Al Families,

Welcome to my first official parent news note. I am so excited to be here and have been busy working with the office staff and teachers to get us prepared for the upcoming school year. I did want to tell a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Michigan and am a die-hard Detroit Lion’s fan (don’t judge J). I moved here for a teaching job and worked for ten years as a middle school science teacher. I received by Master’s degree from Marquette University and have been a principal for the last sixteen years. My husband (Dirk), kids (Ava, Graham, Miles), dog (Sasha), cat (Trixie) and I live in Fox Point.

I also want to introduce our new 1 st grade teacher, Mrs. Melinda Prideaux. Melinda lives in Greendale and is also very excited to be here. Some of you may have heard that the Pius Performing Arts Academy has been discontinued. We are so lucky that both Molly and Conor are coming back as independent band and orchestra teachers to St. Al’s. They have been such a pivotal part of why that program was so successful and we are very blessed that they have decided to branch out on their own and will be continuing their successful band/orchestra lessons here.

Finally, I do want you all to be aware of the two main goals that I am going to be working on this year with my staff and committees. We will be working on marketing and academic excellence. Expect to hear many things about both goals throughout the school year. We will also be working on Kindness as our virtue goal.
Just a reminder that we have Meet and Greet Night and picture day on August 27 th from 3-7 pm. The first day of classes is August 28 th and that is also a 12:00pm dismissal day. Thank you for all your continued support and I look forward to meeting you all on August 27 th.

Sincerely,

Mary Stallmann
