Local businesses host event for Welcome Home
Phil Steinhaus, Terry Roberts, Sarah Froese, Ross Bridges, Sarah Grim, Rick Means, Norman Cox, Keith Curd, Rockne Corbin, Janice Munford, Tracy Rowe

Coil Construction, Inside Columbia Magazine, Veterans United and Shelter Insurance hosted a Welcome Home capital campaign awareness event on April 2, 2015, at Inside Columbia's Culinary Adventures. The event brought together more than 72 community business leaders to learn more about the Welcome Home capital campaign and proposed 32-bed emergency and transitional living shelter. The shelter will be part of Welcome Home:  A Community for Veterans at 2112  Business Loop 70 East in Columbia, a partnership of Welcome Home Inc., the  Columbia Housing Authority and the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital.

Downtown Rotary Donate to Welcome Home


Welcome Home was the recipient of a $1,500 donation from the Downtown Rotary on April 2, 2015. 
Downtown Rotary President Susan Bell  and Vice President Rick Huffstutter presented the check to Welcome Home CEO Sarah Grim at their monthly luncheon. Rainbow House and Voluntary Action Center also received donations from Downtown Rotary at the same event.

 
 

Furniture & Storage donations for new facility

Welcome Home now has a donated storage unit at Storage Mart that we are using to store donated furniture items for the new facility. Smart Business Products donated file cabinets and chairs. 
 

In addition, Kit Bond Strategies donated a conference room table, file cabinets and equipment for the new Supportive Services Center. These in-kind donations will help make the new shelter a success!

Mediacom Shows PSA for Welcome Home 
Since December 2014, Mediacom has aired a special Public Service Announcement (PSA) about Welcome Home more than 683 times. The PSA is part of the Welcome Home story and supports our capital campaign for a new 32-bed facility at 2112 Business Loop 70 East in Columbia.

It's Official!  
On April 14th,  CHA President of the Board, Genie Rogers, CHA CEO Phil Steinhaus, Suzanne Ayers of Boone Central Title Company, and Ross Bridges, Welcome Home, Inc. President of the Board, signed the final papers on the closing of our new property at 2112 Business Loop 70 East!
