Hello SWAN community,

We are excited to announce a change to the leadership team at SWAN and welcome Judy Patterson as our new Chief Executive Officer. Judy will be responsible for leading SWAN to the next level, building on the solid foundation and momentum achieved by the SWAN team under Anu Bhagwati's founding leadership. We thank Anu for her service to SWAN - setting the stage for making history with our formation and creating groundbreaking and sustainable change for service women and women veterans - ultimately preparing us for growth.

Judy is passionate about women's issues and has dedicated much of her career to creating professional environments that empower women. She co-founded a professional services firm that develops workplace strategies for achieving gender balance and founded an industry organization that broke new ground on empowering women and increasing opportunities in management, executive and board positions.

Judy is also an accomplished leader known for her ability to connect with diverse constituencies to build trust and respect, and has a talent for solving entrenched and complex problems. With extensive experience in non-profit leadership during her tenures as Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Executive Director of several organizations, Judy diversified revenues and raised more than $25 million through multi-year corporate contributions, special events and conferences.

Please help us welcome Judy as she takes the helm as CEO of SWAN. She will lead the team with the launch of our Women Veterans in Leadership and Public Policy Fellowship program, and over the longer term will focus on broadening our base, expanding our reach, and enhancing our existing connections with service women and women veterans. She will remain steadfast in securing equal opportunity and freedom to serve without discrimination, harassment or assault; and to reform veterans' services to ensure high quality health care and benefits for women veterans and their families.  In the coming weeks, you'll hear from Judy as she begins to share more about what's on the near horizon for SWAN.

Our board and staff thank you for all of the support and encouragement you have given over the years.  We trust this important partnership will continue and grow during our transition and well into the future.
