Welcome to the first edition of the LG-Schools Staff Connect -- a new e-newsletter for all Lake Geneva School District employees.
Welcome To LG-Schools Staff Connect!
Greetings!

We hope you enjoyed a fantastic Labor Day weekend! As we kick off the school year, we're excited to announce that we'll be offering this new LG-Schools Staff Connect e-newsletter to all employees.

LG-Schools Staff Connect will be a great way for us to share our successes and school news with each other, as well as communicate important district updates, events, professional development opportunities, curriculum updates and more.

We all have a big role to play in the success of our students and accomplishing the objectives of our new strategic plan. This newsletter is one piece to help us along our journey. Find archived newsletters on the district website under Information > Staff Resources.

If you have questions or comments, please send them to [email protected].

Welcome New Staff!
Lake Geneva Schools is excited to welcome several new staff members this year. They graciously took some time during their recent new teacher orientation to share information about themselves.

Hit The Success Button & Share Your Good News!
Did something fun & amazing just happen in your classroom? Did a student, athlete or co-worker accomplish a great thing? Or maybe a someone went above & beyond & deserves recognition...

Please Hit the Success Button & Share The Good News!

We're excited to launch our new Success Button! It will be a great tool to help us share & promote our success stories this year.

Find the Success Button at the bottom of the District homepage. Click it to access a form for sharing your good news, event summaries & photos. You can also give a "head's up" on an upcoming event that you'd like to promote.

Stories will be sent to Jennifer Kramp, Communications Director, & Marie Collins, Community Education Coordinator. We'll use your information to develop feature stories & share them in our newsletters, social media sites, press releases, websites & more.  The Success Button is one of the many tools that will support our strategic plan objectives of Promoting Community Engagement & Developing & Retaining Exceptional Staff.

Here Are A Few Tips:

  • Please share photos! There is a field on the success form that allows you to attach photos, flyers & other files. Photos greatly enhance our stories, so please share!  And, be sure they are high-res. photos (300dpi). IMPORTANT: please double-check that you're not sharing photos of students who are on your school's "no photos" list. Check with your building principal to see if students in your class are "no photo kids."
  • No need to write a lengthy story -- a quick summary will do. Be sure to share the important details including who, what, when, where, and include any comments on how/why you are recognizing your student or co-workers. We'll follow-up to get more details if necessary. Did we mention to include photos, please? :-)
  • Plan ahead: If you're providing a "head's up" for an upcoming event & you'd like promotional assistance,  please provide at least 3 weeks notice (more is ideal) prior to the event for planning purposes.

Successes occur everyday in our classes & activities. Please share them with us so we can share with our colleagues & community. We look forward to receiving your stories!

Questions?  Jt. #1 Staff, please email Jennifer Kramp at [email protected]. Badger Staff, please email Marie Collins at [email protected]

Central-Denison students also enjoyed a photo booth to start the new school year. Thanks to 3rd grade teacher Karen McKinney for sharing the great pics of her kids. Her tagline: "Ms. McKinney's 3rd grade class always says I CAN!"
LGMS was a hustling, bustling place on Sept. 1 as staff welcomed students back to school. If you haven't seen their creative "LGMS Project One Word" video they shared with students, it's a must see!
