Outstanding Kupuna: Pat Simpson! Pat Simpson

Share the Care
group organizer Pat Simpson named 2015 Kauai Outstanding Older American. Congratulations Pat!

A little love goes a long way is a motto Pat Simpson lives by. Pat set up a Share the Care movement at Sun Village where she lives and coordinated grocery deliveries and other chores while the elevators were being installed.

"Simpson said. "Usually I'm the one with the comebacks and lines, but I'm speechless. This is the ultimate honor. Being able to help people every day is an honor, and I'm amazed with this."

If you are in Los Angeles try to see this not to be missed film.

Heralded by critics and health professionals alike, "One Cut, One Life," is a complex, intimate film about some of the conversations in life we typically avoid the most, about death, dying, end-of-life. It is playing at the Laemmle Music Hall.

This is an excellent resource if you or someone you know has been wounded in the service of his or her country.

Thanks to our friends and supporters at Ventura Associates, Sheila was able to attend the Wounded Warriors Courage Awards on Thursday, May 28th at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

It was a moving and incredibly inspiring event. She had the opportunity to thank and speak with many of our brave warriors and their caregivers. I was especially touched by their individual enthusiasm to reach out to help other warriors and older veterans from other wars.
