The BONNIE'S SURVIVAL COOKIES Newsletter  ◉  May, 2013

Greetings!
Um...where were we before we were interrupted...?

The word on Bonnie's Survival Cookies just keeps getting stronger and stronger, thanks to word of mouth and referrals. I wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your spreading the good news, so we're giving you a special online deal in this newsletter (which you can also pass along to a friend to use).

Lots of exciting things are happening since our relocation to Washington and I can't wait to share them with you in this newsletter.

With summer coming on, Survival Cookies make a great gift for that student winding up their year, the gang at the office or to bring to the next picnic or sporting event. The nutrition keeps you going and the flavor keeps you happy. Stock up now on the perfect cookie - Survival Cookies!

Now get out there and have fun. That's an order.

SURVIVAL COOKIES Debut at the Downtown Walla Walla Farmers Market
Even though the first day had a visit by one of our area's howling spring winds, people still came out in force to enjoy the food and music of the true sign of summer. The Downtown Walla Walla Farmers Market came back for the season and Bonnie has set up shop right in the thick of it!

Every Saturday, Bonnie will be there with a delicious fresh stock of her Survival Cookies to sell individually or in specially discounted gift boxes.

The reaction? Almost a sellout! It set our record for the most Survival Cookies sold in one day.

As a bonus just for regulars to the market, we also hand out wallet-sized punch cards. Buy eight Survival Cookies and we'll give you the ninth one free. The cards are good all the way until October.

(Side note: Thanks to the wind we almost set an altitude record for a canopy. The canopy next to ours won that honor. We'll just have to keep trying.)

Along with our new local friends, we met so many terrific people from all over the Pacific Northwest who came to Walla Walla for the wineries' spring release. We're looking forward to seeing everyone every week.

Come see Bonnie at the Downtown Walla Walla Farmers Market every Saturday until October at Main and 4th from 9am until 1pm.

And of course Survival Cookies are always available online at SurvivalCookies.com

Our Home Town Pops the Cork
on Spring Release Week
Our favorite time of the year has arrived. We're writing this in the midst of Spring Release at the Walla Walla wineries, and the town is vibrant with wine and wonderful people.

We tried many of the new kids on the bar and paired them with Bonnie's Survival Cookies. Don't laugh. The rich dark Theo Chocolate in our cookies makes some reds absolutely pop.

It's hard to winnow it down to our favorites - there are now around 150 wineries in the WW Valley. We try to sample as many of our hometown tasting rooms as possible, and they all have their own personality.

If we were to pick two, one is most definitely Cougar Crest Winery out in the farmlands west of town in the historic Frenchtown area. After more than a decade, Dave and Deborah Hansen (left) have created a brand which is currently considered to be one of the great sleeper wineries in America. They're not quite yet a household name, but their wines are things of beauty. Their new releases include a 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2008 Tempranillo - both go perfectly with Survival Cookies. In fact, the Cab has already scored a 93 in Wine Spectator. (Don't bother looking for their 2006 Anniversary Cuvee. We cleaned 'em out.)

Another great destination is Amavi Cellars in the south region. This is where we take everyone who visits. Not just great wines, but a sensational tasting room they completed in 2010. Here, you can sample their best while letting your mind melt watching a gorgeous infinite view of the valley. The house dog Boots loves her belly rubs, and she may not let you leave until you oblige. Their new releases include the 2011 vintages of their famous Syrah and a members-only Ceres which blends the Syrah with their equally famous Cab. Again, Survival Cookies pair wonderfully with them.

It's no coincidence that both these wineries are (1) dog friendly, as most wineries are, and (2) they're both WSU Alumni. There are so many others to try, including those who essentially founded the wine industry in Walla Walla in the '70s and '80s; Leonetti, L'Ecole No. 41, and Woodward Canyon.

Visit our town very soon, pick up some Survival Cookies at the Saturday Market and enjoy tasting your way through the Walla Walla Valley.
