That New Metal...
Silver Filled Jump Ring---SFI talked in the last newsletter about the

addition of silver filled rings to the online store. The silver filled wire with the highest silver content we could find is 1/10 by weight. Remember to contact me about prices for jump ring sizes that aren't yet in the store. | | The Boss Pearl Necklace |
I've started to use these rings in new kits and variations of current ones. I'm excited that I can offer necklace kits in silver

that are more affordable. There are also seven bracelet kits and a couple more necklace kits that use silver filled jump rings. These three will be available at the Tucson shows, and will appear in the store soon.

| Top 5 Bracelet Projects for Beginners
In the last newsletter I talked about some wonderful earring projects that were good choices for people wanting to try out chain mail.
This month I've put together the Top 5 BRACELETS I'd choose as first projects. I'd even go so far as to say that anyone who makes chain mail jewellery should know how to make these.
These are different from the ones I used in the earrings--so remember that those ones also make really gorgeous bracelets. The weaves in these bracelets (just like the ones used in the earrings) can be used in many creative ways to make additional pieces of jewellery.

Work in Progress: A Studio Peek
I purchased these lampwork beads from Maureen Ross at the recent OGBA show in Ottawa. I've just ordered some black Niobium jump rings that I think will be amazing with them. Maybe Turkish Round?
Update: The "black" rings turned out to be a lovely hematite colour that will look wonderful with a lampwork bead I have--but I'm still searching for really black ones (other than rings made from black craft wire).
I want to revise the Foxtail Bracelet kits in sterling and in copper. Here are the focal beads by Kirsty Naray that I want to try with the silver, and some black lava beads that should be amazing with the copper. We'll see...
Update: Here's a photo of the new copper Foxtail Bracelet--available soon. I'm still working on the silver one.

I have a very lovely necklace in the Butterfly weave, and I want to make one in silver filled (to help make it affordable as a kit). I'm looking for the right pendant but haven't found it yet. Any ideas anyone?
Update: See the Butterfly photo in the "Silver-Filled" section above. I'm not sure if this is the right pendant, but it will suffice for the present. Maybe I'll find something even better at the gem shows this week.
