Kinetics School of Contemporary Dance
  • This fall we expanded into our 5th studio space! Our newest and largest studio yet gives space to increase class offerings, soar across the floor, and host informal showings in-house, which we are really excited about!
  • Have you noticed our new look? This fall we launched our new Kinetics logo to update our brand of strong and contemporary artistry.
  • This past summer was unprecedented in the scope of classes, master classes, and camps we were able to offer.
  • We are pleased to welcome new faculty member Katherine Heming to our ranks! Kat brings a wealth of experience to the studio and our students. View her bio and those of our other faculty members here.
Kinetics Professional Dance Company
  • Kinetics' resident professional dance company is brimming with new work, rich collaborations, two new company dancers, Bonnie Phillips and Laura Murphy, and a successful 2017 season, during which they received the distinction of being selected to present work in regional showcase, the Baltimore Dance Invitational.
  • In early spring 2018, the Company will debut a brand new Family Concert Series production. While the title is still secret, the dancers are busy as BEES--certainly not SLUGGISH--with preparations. They report a BUZZ surrounding the show. Keep an eye out for the title announcement, coming soon...time FLIES!
KDT's Student Companies
  • Under the restructured leadership of Director Erin Gum, the Kinetics Student Companies are on track for an exceptional year. Looking back on the 2017 season, the companies established a strong community presence, performing at Kennedy Krieger's Festival of Trees, the B&O Railroad Museum, Morningside Senior Living Facility, and Mt Hebron Nursery School, just to name a few!
  • At the moment, the Companies are in prep for their annual Cracked Nut production (with new surprises), as the Apprentice Company also gears up to perform with the professional company in next Saturday's IGNITE, with a joint student/professional piece by Apprentice Company Director Alex J. Krebs.
Why Support Non-Profit Dance at Kinetics Dance Theatre?

Our goal is to serve our community as a hub of artistic and creative activity.

Kinetics is dedicated to the rich benefits dance has to offer EVERYONE, of every age, background, interest and level.

Dance holds power. It builds strength, offers new perspectives, teaches expression and empathy, sparks creativity, opens a door to world cultures, develops discipline, encourages goal-setting, celebrates diversity and shared experience, and connects people through art.
Today, we ask your help in realizing this vision and continuing to offer rich programs in dance education, performance, and outreach at low costs. In fact, most of our community outreach programs, at schools, libraries, senior centers, and benefit events are offered to audiences and participants FREE of charge.

As a 501c3 non-profit, we rely on the generosity and support of our Grantors and private donors like yourself. Your contributions are fully tax deductible, and they are so very appreciated. Every dollar makes a difference. Please consider donating today, and know that you have our deepest thanks.

We hope you will join us this season, as mover, learner, creator, or viewer.

Yours in Shared Vision,

Lauren Tait, Artistic Director & Julie Myers, President of the Board of Directors
