Presented by Welcoming Indianapolis , a project of the Immigrant Welcome Center , Welcoming Week is a celebration of our city’s many diverse cultures. Come and join us for lively community events, volunteer opportunities, and other # WelcomingWeek experiences!

Celebrate Constitution Day
The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana and partner organizations will be giving away pocket Constitutions around downtown Indy in honor of Constitution Day, a day to recognize and celebrate the signing of the United States Constitution.
Saturday, September 16
8:30 AM - 1:30 PM Jordan YMCA
Distribution Event
Join us for a day of service , distributing donated items such as toiletries, household goods, and school supplies, to immigrants and refugees.
Please note, the actual event is 10 AM - 12 PM, with volunteer shifts from 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM.

Lunch & Learn: Japan
On your lunch break, stop by the Indianapolis Public Library to learn about Japanese culture and Japanese-American history. Lunch featuring Japanese cuisine provided. Sponsored by Indianapolis Power & Light Company .

Lunch & Learn: Venezuela
On your lunch break, stop by Indianapolis Public Library to learn about the political and economic crises in Venezuela, Venezuelan asylum seekers, and the local Venezuelan population. Lunch featuring Venezuelan cuisine provided.  Sponsored by Indianapolis Power & Light Company .

Welcoming Potluck
We invite newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and long-time residents of Indianapolis to come together for an international family potluck. Bring a dish to share if you are able. This event is presented in partnership with Darfur Women Network , and we are excited to announce that we were selected by Welcoming America as the winner of the Common Ground video contest .

Learn more about the rescission of DACA. DACA recipients whose DACA expires between September 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018 must apply by October 5, 2017 in order to renew. The Indiana Undocumented Youth Alliance is raising funds for DACA renewal filing fees, which are $495.

Catholic Charities , Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic , and community partners are offering free DACA renewal workshops, clinics, and info sessions:
