CUFAIR
Champaign-Urbana Friends & Allies  of Immigrants & Refugees
Announcing our newest US Citizen!
Mohammad Nabi

Mohammad Nabi was born Friday night and is the son of Waheedullah & Meena Asmati & sister of Hena Asmati --
our newest resettled friends & neighbors  from Afghanistan.

Please join us in celebrating with them!

Let's show Waheed and Meena what a truly welcoming community Champaign-Urbana is!  During the family's first two weeks of settling in with their new son and their almost 3-year-old daughter, let's organize volunteers to deliver a daily non-pork evening meal to their home.

Meena and her new baby will be coming home on Monday so let's begin on that day.  If you can provide a  non-pork evening meal for any day from Monday, August 7 through Sunday, August 20 please  CLICK HERE  and let us know what date you can prepare and deliver a meal.  We'll confirm the date with you or suggest an alternate date if the date you've chosen has already been covered.

Blessings to all as we work together to create a welcoming c ommunity  for our new friends and neighbors.
Generous outpouring of support continues to flow from our community but , YOUR help is still needed with the following:

  • We need an experienced bookkeeper or accountant who is willing to volunteer his/her time to do our bookkeeping and maintain our financial records to assure compliance with our 501(c)(3) standing.  CLICK HERE and let us know if you're willing to offer your expertise.
  • We need additional volunteers for our mentoring team who will commit to visit one of our immigrant or refugee families each week to be sure the case plan is being followed and that the family is moving successfully in the direction of self-sufficiency. CLICK HERE and let us know if you're willing to be a mentor.
  • We need volunteers to serve on our fund-raising team to help us keep the flow of supportive abundance coming.  If you are willing to be added to our fund-raising team, please CLICK HERE and let us know.
  • We still need additional transportation volunteers who are willing to provide occasional transport for our newly arrived immigrant and refugee friends and neighbors to appointments for medical care, social security, cultural and social events, etc.  If you are willing to be added to our transport team, please CLICK HERE and let us know.

The mission of CUFAIR is to provide resettlement services to immigrants & refugees to support them in moving from dependency to complete self-sufficiency.  Your financial support is essential for our work to continue.
