Q. Cancer runs in my family, what can I do to protect myself?
|
The American Cancer Society reports some types of cancer run in families, most are not clearly linked to genetics and only a small portion of cancers are inherited. This means 9 months in utero may not impact your life as much as 90 years of living. The good news is just because cancer runs in your family, doesn't mean you will develop it. In fact, research shows simple lifestyle behavior changes can be life saving.

When it comes to prevention it's never too late to get started. We all need to be reminded often life is only 10% of that happens to us (sickness) and 90% how you react to what is happening (prevention). It is important to note Cancer is a multi- step process that happens over time, not an over night.
With these 4 lifestyle changes 75% of all cancers could be avoided:
- Stop smoking. Stop for free click here
- Eat more fruits and vegetables. Food & cancer click here

DON'T
Don't think taking supplements will prevent any cancer according to Cancer Research. There has never been any medical research to prove taking supplements reduces your risk of cancer. The recommendation is whole food. We recommend eat more fruits and vegs + Juice Plus+. DO Do get educated on cancer prevention from legitimate sources. Dr. Joel Fuhrman recommends a limiting certain foods from your food choices with his Anti-Cancer Diet. To learn more click here. |
