The new revised Installation Sheet went into production this month.  It will be posted to the Extang Website shortly.  It has some additional tips for proper installation and the proper use of the tonneau cover.  Please ensure that this version is what you send to customers and delete any prior versions yo may have.  

 

Ramsey Winch has announced a price increase effective April 2, 2012.  Ramsey states that while raw materials and commodity prices have stabilized in recent quarters, supply chain constraints and shortages have forced alternative sourcing resulting in significant purchase price variances.  Unfortunately, Ramsey can no longer fully absorb these additional costs.  Subsequently, it is necessary to increase prices 3.5% on all assemblies while spare parts will increase 5%.

Key Points of the Implementation Schedule:

• All requests for quotation from this point forward will be subject to new pricing.
• Orders received with anticipated ship dates before April 2, 2012 will be honored at 2011 Prices with the following stipulations:

1. Order Acceptance is subject to lead-time and material availability.
2. Accepted and acknowledged orders not delivered by April 2, 2012 due to no fault of the customer will ship at 2011 pricing.

• All backlog currently scheduled to ship on April 2, 2012 or after, with the exception of the Wildcat Product Line, will be re-priced to reflect 2012 pricing.

Extang has implemented revised Caution Labels for the Solid Fold and added new hanging tags for both Solid Fold and EnCore on the tail panels.  The intent is to better educate the end-user with the proper use of the Solid Fold and EnCore overall and improve customer satisfaction.  

The message is largely the same as the previous labels, but larger and laid out in bullets for a simpler read.  Extang has added one statement (which is also in the Installation Guide) "The tonneau cover MUST be free of foreign materials including snow and ice before opening".  Extang Research has confirmed that many issues are a result of customers not using the cover as described in both the open and closed positions.  This also includes opening the tonneau with snow and ice build-up vs. clearing this off prior to opening.  Failure to follow these cautions may result in severe damage and will void the warranty.

One caution label is adhered to the inside panel that is exposed on the driver's side when the system is folded completely open.  The other tag is affixed to one of the rear spring clamps on the Solid Fold and to the latch release cable on the EnCore so they are visible upon opening the tailgate.  This is intended to quickly  alert proper use where the installer isn't present to explain (as in the case of car dealers, etc.).

Oracle has been working on a few new new light bars designs that will be available in the next few weeks.   

 

These Light bars are using the high quality Epistar LED that is much better quality than the competition.  And it is BRIGHT.  The LED Light Bar will be available in 22", 32", and 42".
