WCCA welcomes you back for the first general meeting of 2018 this Wednesday, January 17th, 7:30am, at 40W Gallery (1560 Teller Street). This month will feature an overview of the WCCA Strategic Plan, as well as an update from The  West Chamber.

Members and friends are encouraged to attend the meeting to network and  hear the latest news from elected officials, corridor representatives, neighbors, and business owners. Enjoy f ree coffee and breakfast items. Meetings start promptly at 7:30am and wrap up by 9am. 

WCCA meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1560 Teller St., Lakewood 80214. The next WCCA meeting will be on February 21st, 2018. Join in!

StorQuest Opens with Pedestrian Gallery along West Colfax 
 
The recently opened StorQuest facility at 9720 W. Colfax Avenue includes a one-of-a-kind feature, just for our creative corridor. Thanks to StorQuest, our community can enjoy a new walk by / drive by gallery, curated by 40 West Arts and featuring artwork by the 40 West-RMCAD Artist in Residence, James Overstreet. Take a look at this unique gallery the next time you're in the area. it's just east of Kipling on the southside of W. Colfax. it's even illuminated at night by high-efficiency LEDs. 
 
Lakewood State of the City Luncheon Tickets/Sponsorships Now on Sale
 
Mayor Adam Paul has announced the date and theme for this year's State of the City Luncheon. As we move forward in 2018, Mayor Paul urges us to "Be Bold!" Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available online. Event proceeds help to fund Lakewood nonprofits. The event will take place on Thursday, March 8th at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel at 360 Union Blvd. in Lakewood. Click here for tickets and more details.

40 West ArtLine Launches Pilot Project and New Website

Have you seen the green? The ArtLine has launched a pilot project to test ideas and materials to help guide visitors along the walking and biking art route. In addition to the "green line" other pilot ideas include ground murals and signage around Mountair Park. Art is scheduled for installation starting in March with the first phase completed this summer. Take the pilot project survey at the new ArtLine website and check back for updates.

Neon Lights Brighten West Colfax at Sheridan Blvd.

The entry features at Colfax and Sheridan have been welcoming visitors to Lakewood's West Colfax corridor for almost two decades. They will now once again greet visitors at night with the restoration of the neon lights. Not all the lights have been installed . . . so there's more to look forward to!
Dutch Bro's Coffee Construction Underway 

If you've driven by Lamar Station Plaza recently you may have noticed the big hole in the ground. Don't be alarmed! Construction crews are making space for the newest location for the Seattle-based "cult" coffee company, Dutch Bros. The facility, featuring walk-up and drive-thru service with an outdoor seating area, is scheduled for completion this spring. 


Meow Wolf announces new project in Denver, to open on Colfax in 2020
 
Santa Fe's insanely popular art collective lands a permanent installation in Denver at the intersection of I-25 and Colfax Avenue. The four-story, 90,000-square-foot art complex will be three times bigger than Meow Wolf Santa Fe.  
 
In addition to the massive interactive art exhibition space, the Meow Wolf venue on Colfaxit will also feature a bar, cafe, retail space and a music venue. Believe it or not, you can already buy first week tickets--and local artists can start getting connected now on their website.
 
Third Annual 40 West Arts Summit Scheduled for February 21st

40 West Arts wants to hear from you! The district is hosting a casual, come-and-go as you please open house at WestFax Brewing Company on Wednesday, February 21st from 5:00-6:30pm . Join in to learn about 40 West Arts  initiatives , share feedback, provide input, and meet and network with others. The beer will be flowing, snacks will be provided, and other beverages will be available, too. The West Chamber Celebrates 71st Chairman's Gala! 

The West Chamber is proud to honor businesses, individuals and organizations from Jefferson County at its 71st Annual Chairman's Gala.
