Salvation Army Angel Tree
West Nash UMW will be collecting toys for the Angel Tree through the Salvation Army to assist families in our community. These toys will help supplement Christmas for children ages newborn to 12 years old. We will be collecting toys through December 10.  Please place toys in the boxes outside the sanctuary. Any toys will be appreciated, suggested items:
  • Coats, toboggans, gloves (all ages newborn to 12)
  • Balls (any type – football, soccer, basketball, etc.)
  • Learning/musical toys for all ages, especially children ages newborn to 2
  • Books, coloring books, crayons
  • Miscellaneous items for ages 11-12, i.e., headphones, nail polish, socks
  • Lego sets
What’s the true meaning of Christmas? Christmas celebrates closeness. It celebrates God coming close to humans in the form of Baby Jesus. It celebrates families and friends coming close together. “The True Meaning of Christmas Tour” will be traveling through 21 cities in 16 states between Dec. 2 and 24, looking for how people are coming close to one another this season and inviting others to come close, too. Come help us unwrap the true meaning of Christmas! The UNWRAP CHRISTMAS Truck will be in Greenville on December 17th. For more information go to www.unwrapchristmas.org

  • Dec. 24th: No Forum
  • Dec. 31st: No Forum
  • Jan 6: Ministry Fair*

*We are having a Ministry Fair during the Adult Forum on January 7.
That means that, after hearing from multiple city and county agencies that minister to our area, we get to hear from West Nash groups that also serve our neighbors and nurture our congregation. The ten-member Ministry Team hopes this session will help answer questions you may have about how we carry out our Mission Statement. Have YOU ever wondered....

  • How many ways does West Nash reach out to those in need?
  • Who can answer my question about a current project?
  • What group was responsible for the wonderful ———— ?
  • How can I volunteer to help without being asked to be in charge?
  • I would be willing to usher, read, cook, teach, etc., but how do I get on the list?

At least fifteen committee or project leaders have been asked to briefly share their group’s agenda and provide an opportunity for anyone to volunteer to help throughout 2018. It is difficult to communicate to everyone about every good thing West Nash is doing, but the Ministry Fair will be a beginning. If you want to be “in the know” or “on the list” come to the Fair  January 7 at 11:15.

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who experience God’s grace, love one another, and serve the community and world.
