Hope Circle Mission Project: The Days for Girls International Program provides personal hygiene items for pre-teen and teen girls to enable them to attend school every day and complete their education. Last year the Hope Circle made 25 kits, which were delivered to girls in Haiti. This year’s goal is to complete another 25 kits, and the circle is inviting the entire congregation to join in by donating items for the kits. Items need to be received by March 1, and a box for donations will be available near the church welcome center. Contact Jane Jernigan to volunteer.
Items needed for 25 kits:
  • 1-gallon size Ziploc freezer bags (qty. 50)
  •  Wash cloths (qty. 25)
  • Unwrapped hotel-sized bars of soap (qty. 25)
  • Girls panties sizes 10-16 or women’s size 5 - cotton blend briefs, no boy shorts or thongs. Must be colored, plain or figured, but no faces or animals. (qty. 50)
  • 100% cotton fabric, bright colorful prints preferred (to make drawstring bags)
  • 1/2 to 5/8 inch ribbon (for drawstrings)
  • Cash donations would be welcomed to purchase other specialized fabrics and to pay for postage or shipping costs.
