West Park Pizza Bake-Off to Raise Funds for St. Patrick Church

Who bakes the best pizza in West Park? Tasters will decide at the Second Annual West Park Pizza Bake-Off Pre-Super Bowl Game party on Monday, January 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the St. Patrick West Park Church gym, 4427 Rocky River Drive. Tickets include "all you can eat" pizza and a beverage. Prices vary by each taster's age: $10 for ages 12 and older, $5 for ages 6 to 11, and no charge for 5 and younger. Click here for the flyer.

A newly announced "Wing War" will be waged on the side for an additional charge -- not yet determined -- meaning a variety of wings by each of the competitors will be added to the menu.

Purchase raffle tickets for a 48" LED 1080p HD Smart TV with Roku. Tickets are $5 for one or $20 for five. In addition, an Ohio State football autographed by Urban Meyer (donated by The Public House) will be raffled. Purchase those tickets for $1 for one ticket or $5 for six tickets.

Proceeds go to the church in an effort to get the tower bells ringing again! By updating the system to digital, it will be easy to program them for weddings, church services, and funerals.

Meet Dale Smith, Store Manager at ACE Hardware

Family owned and locally operated E&H Hardware Group opened ACE Hardware in Kamms Plaza (3780 Rocky River Drive) last November. Since then, many West Park "do-it-yourselfers" have been shopping there, sometimes asking for advice from store manager Dale Smith, who has been working in hardware retail for 30 years.

Originally from Hudson, Dale spent the past three years in Columbus, but recently moved across the bridge to Fairview Park. "It's great to be back in Greater Cleveland. I love this entire area and especially enjoy being so close to Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland," said Dale. When asked about the changes he's seen in the hardware business over the years, Dale said that one of the biggest has been the uptick in big box hardware stores versus the smaller, more personal stores like ACE.

"A big difference is that my team and I are trained and knowledgeable so that exceptional customer service is part of our day-to-day operations," he said. "We are always here to help you get the job done!" With convenient "close to the door" parking, ACE is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 to 5 p.m. For more information, call 216-251-4223 or visit the ACE website here.
