From the Desk of Don Schulte...
The slow pace of winter is about to be a distant memory. We are springing forward into a season of activity, and it will all start at the end of March with two signature events for the defense industry and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.
First, businesses large and small will descend on the French Lick Resort on March 31st for the annual Buy Indiana Expo. Sponsored by NSWC Crane and the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce, this year's event will continue the 17-year tradition of connecting industry with government. There are opportunities for business development through small contracts (less than $25,000) and bankcard purchases of $3,000 or less, not to mention the networking potential. Read more about the expo from Inside Indiana Business here.
The next day, NSWC Crane will host its Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry, here at the WestGate@Crane Technology Park. The WestGate Academy will welcome industry and academia to hear from Crane leaders about contracting, technical requirements, and tips on doing business with NSWC Crane.
These two days offer something for everyone, from small-scale purchasing to large-scale contracting opportunities. They bring together the entire defense industry and provide incredible access to key contacts both inside and outside the gates of Crane.
I hope you are also considering participation in the upcoming United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Technical Experimentation (TE) at Muscatatuck Urban Warfare Center. I hope to see a solid representation of companies from South Central Indiana there. This is an opportunity for companies to present new technology and projects and receive valuable feedback that could lead to future contracting opportunities. Learn more at the USSOCOM website.
Clearly, we have a lot to prepare for and look forward to. I hope you will plan to participate and take full advantage of these unique opportunities.
