Staples Players'
invites you to their

summer production

of

"Godspell"

Based on the Gospels, this family-friendly musical brings to life the parables of Jesus Christ by putting a modern twist on traditional hymns.  Through vibrant song and humor, "Godspell" communicates a message of friendship, loyalty, forgiveness, and perseverance that will resonate with the entire family, irrespective of religious beliefs.

"Godspell's" Tony-nominated score spans the genres of rock, blues, gospel, ballad, and ragtime. Its well-loved songs include "Day by Day," which reached #13 on the Billboard pop singles chart in 1972. The Staples Players production will feature new arrangements that were created for the 2012 Broadway Revival. "Godspell" was conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak and launched the career of its composer Stephen Schwartz, who went on to write music and/or lyrics for "Wicked," "Pippin," and "Children of Eden."
