What do you do when...
What do you do when...the answer doesn't come.
When you don't see what you believed for. Hoped for. Prayed for.
What do you do?
I know what I'm tempted to do.
Whine, c
omplain, fear.
Hide my head, hide my heart. B
ury my face.
Run from people, run from God.
But I also know what
I want to do, and that's what I
choose
to do.
I choose to lift my head. I choose to lift my eyes. I choose to lift my heart.
Past my circumstance. Past my fear. To my Father, to look into His eyes, His gaze.
It's not always easy. But it does get easier.
How does it look practically?
Time spent with my Father. H
earing His voice. Feeling His love. Enjoying His presence and Him enjoying mine.
Time spent in His Word. Hearing His heart for me and remembering His promises to me.
And time spent with His people. Accepting their love. Accepting their encouragement. Allowing them to be the very hands and feet of Jesus to me.
Although I don't know the specifics of what you're going through today, I'd like to encourage you, if you'd let me. Encourage you to once again lift your head. To once again l
ift your eyes. To once again lift your heart.
And allow your Father to minister to you, personally and practically, through His Spirit, through His Word and through His people.
I look up to the mountains -
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble;
the One who watches over you will not slumber.
Indeed, He who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps. T
he
Lord
Himself watches over you!
The
Lord
stands beside you as your protective shade.
The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.
The
Lord
keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The
Lord
keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.
Psalm 121 NLT
Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in You.
Psalm 39:7 NLT
Guide me in Your truth, and teach me, my God, my Savior. I trust You all day long. Psalm 25:5 NCV
You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. Psalm 3:3-5 NIV
